I am a seasoned Math Teacher with 25+ years experience teaching a wide range of students from elementary, middle school, and high school to college level students. I am a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University where I received my Bachelors in Elementary and Special Education. I am a graduate of the University of St. Joseph where I received my Masters in Special Education. After graduation, I taught for 6 years, 2 years in the upper Elementary and High School setting and 4 years in the lower Elementary setting as a Special Education teacher. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about tutoring reading. I believe reading is the core foundation to succeeding in education. I believe education needs to be student centered and diversified to meet students individual needs. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring nature with my family, reading, crafting and doing Yoga.

I have had 25 years teaching experience on the elementary level. I taught Kindergarten for 19 years. I have been teaching 5th grade for the last 6 years. I have always taught in an inclusion classroom.

I have always been fascinated with how superior communication can affect the way one's perspective; Specifically, how fiction can shape the boundaries of the real world. Studying English, and writing in general, also allows the student to analyze information critically, which will help the student in every possible career choice.Personally, I grew up reading as much as I could, playing music, and studying film in order to understand as many aspects of the human condition as possible. I am a strong believer that when you take the time to study how something works, you can apply that investigative process to any subject and become a more well rounded person.
