- I believe in the success of those I tutor and value the journey to get there

I am a graduate of The University of West Georgia where I was awarded a Bachelors degree in Philosophy. While in college, I tutored several students including home-schooled students and at-risk students. Since graduation, I have worked in the private sector as a real estate analyst and account manager. Upon entering education, I have continued to help students grow with a personable and unique style and approach. While I am able to tutor in Social Studies, Math and Science, working with Middle School students has been a particular interest. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for testing, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements) with basic application of skills which help in lifelong learning. I am an avid proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, running, the outdoors and anything involving water. I enjoy the occasional video game and movie as well. I look forward to helping parents and students see great results from our sessions.
Passionate nurse and nursing instructor. I have been in some form of Healthcare for over 20+years, and have experience in multiple specialties from Med-surg , ICU, OBGYN, family practice, urgent care, pulmonary, case management, nurse educator(non academic), DON of a Rehabilitation and Long Term Care Facility, travel nursing, nursing instructor (academic)..... I started my healthcare career working as a CNA, I then worked as a Medical Assistant, RN (with an ADN degree), BSN, MSN, and now I have an EDD in adult education. Obviously, I did not know when to stop....lol, no, just kidding, I ALWAYS wanted to teach, it just took me a minute to get where I wanted to be but and I did it and truly LOVE teaching, my passion is helping you to become successful. I received my first nuring degree in Pensacola Fl at Pensacola Jr. College, then my BSN and MSN are from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, FL, and most recently I received my Doctor of Education degree from Northcentral University. I have been a traditional and non-traditional student in the sense of being older and also taking online classes, trust me, I know that online is NOT easy, it take a lot more disclipline and dedication. I have taught in both traditional and online settings as well. I also had the pleasure and was blessed to be able to participate in a study abroad course during my MSN program in South Africa, I LOVED IT!!!! That was such a blessing and helped me in so many ways. We were imersed in the healthcare of the country, worked in public and private hospitals, the health department, hospice, home health, and spoke to the nursing class at the Nelson Mandela School of Nursing and participated in a round table with the Prime Minister of Health at the Health Department in Port Elizabeth. OMG what a once in a lifetime experience that I will always treasure. Even though we were working, it was so exciting to see the culture of healthcare in such an amazing place. Learning about the customs, needs, wishes, and mannerisms of the healthcare system as well as seeing how much we have in common, just in a somewhat different way. That experience was one I will always cherish. The pics I took on my trip are posted in my office and I refer to them as my happy place. In my nursing career I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, I have taught in small private schools all the way up to the University of Alabama Huntsville and even been the Nursing Department Chair of a nursing program. I have not ever had a class or taught a course I did not enjoy. If I had to pick one as my favorite it would be teaching the babies as I like to call them, meaning the first semester students. I love setting the bar and seeing just how far you will go with it. I absolutely love instilling a fresh, firm foundation in new students, expanding their minds, opening them up to new and exciting things, and helping shape them in their journey to become healthcare professionals. I understand that each and every student is unique with special needs. There is no such thing as one size fits all. I do my best to adapt my teaching to the student or group of students I have in front of me at the time, I use a variety of teaching strategies, no two classes are exactly the same as I am always trying to perfect my teaching skills just as I am trying to help you become successful in your venture. Tell me what you need and together we will do out best to reach your goals. Thank you and I look forward to working with you.
Hello! My name is Megan and I am passionate about finding the best way to help all types of students learn. I have been teaching for ten years and have worked with junior high and high school students. I am an English major and love to read and to help kids find a passion for reading as well. I have always had a great rapport with my students and truly believe a student has to trust you in order to learn from you. I graduated from Northcentral University in 2012 and taught seventh grade English for two years before moving on to high school. I connect with all types of learners and understand that the same teaching method does not work for every student. I will work with you to find what is the best way to help you learn. I have taught 7th grade ELA, English II and III, and prepped students for the ACT and SAT exams.
I am a proud alumni of Auburn University in Auburn, AL. I received two bachelor degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering and Information Systems Management. I completed the Masters in Public Administration at Strayer University, and I am currently working on my Ed.S in Sport and Athletic Management at Northcentral University. As you can see, education is very important to me, and I want to be an example to others that you can achieve it as well! I have been an educator for 18 years now, and I still have the same passion to educate students I had the very first day I started teaching. Helping our youth has always been a passion of mine, and each day I look forward to reaching at least one person in a positive manner. I am a firm proponent of education, and I try to drive this home to every young person I encounter because I truly believe that it is necessary for an improved quality of life. During my time as an undergraduate, I was a member of the football team, along with numerous campus organizations. This really taught me the value of time management and multi-tasking, which I still use today. My hobbies are coaching, fishing, working out, traveling, and enjoying family.
I graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a Bachelor's of Art in Sociology, and from Northcentral University with a Master's in Education. I have been teaching math and coaching football in Fort Worth for the past 8 years. My favorite part of teaching is helping student realize their potential. I believe in a growth mindset and high expectations. At my current school, I specialize in teaching the group of students who failed their 8th grade End of Course exam; I take this group and use high expectations and great relationships to help them pass their 9th grade Algebra 1 STAAR. Over each of the last three years we have improved our scores and put these students on track for a good math experience the rest of their high school career.Personally, I think that math is beautiful. We often overlook the wonderful patterns and relationships in mathematics and how they relate to the real world; I hope we can work together soon!In my free time I enjoy being with my wife and our daughter. We love to travel and go hiking.
I am a graduate of the Northcentral University. I received my PhD in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting. Before that, I received my BBA and MBA from the American University. Currently, I am studying for another PhD in Consumer Apparel and Retail Studies at UNC Greensboro. Since I have started teaching, I have worked in more than one country, tutoring undergraduate students who are studying for their Bachelor's degree. I also taught and tutored IGCSE Accounting for high school students. While I tutor a broad range of Accounting subjects, I am most passionate about managerial and financial accounting. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for their assessments, we always seem to have the most fun preparing for the analysis and the problem-solving portions of the exams. In teaching, my main goal is to get students to actively participate in classroom activities that help them to actively learn rather than just passively learn. I design my lessons around the application of critical thinking skills to foster deep learning, and the use of collaborative learning skills to facilitate "real-world" problem solving and learning through application. I also use activities in the instructional process that are designed to help students develop research and writing skills. In my spare time, I enjoy a lot of shopping and a little less of reading.
All individuals can learn when they are challenged and given clear instructions, guidelines, and demonstrations. I have been teaching for over 20 years grade levels Pre-K to post high school. I am a Deaf/Hard of Hearing adult who is fluent in Spoken English and American Sign Language. I hold a Doctor of Philosophy (Phd) in Special Education. I believe learning should be enjoyable and that all students can be successful with appropriate guidance.Dr. Rebecca Darden-Perry
I believe all individuals have the ability to learn. Yes, we all learn in different ways and at different rates, but we all have the ability to learn and grow. Learning is a life-long skill. As an educator, I strive to ensure my students are equipped with strategies to assist them in growing and learning for their lifetime.
I have always been thrilled to inspire K-12 and adult learners. I have a DBA from Northcentral University, MBA from NAU and a BS from Albany State University. I have over 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience. My sincere passion for teaching and tutoring has contributed to my great success with students in various subjects. I have taught and tutored GED courses, Business, Healthcare, Algebra, among others. My goal is to make the material make sense. Tutoring sessions are interesting and fun!
I have a passion for helping other students excel in their work. My expertise in the area of finance, accounting, and taxation. However, I enjoy tutoring subjects that are number-related (math, finance, accounting, algebra) or technology-related (Excel, Word, PPT). My PhD is in Finance, and I have Masters degrees in Taxation, Forensic Accounting, and an MBA. I have tutored for several years. I enjoy working with students and guiding them to the right strategy, method, and solution. I use a student-centered approach. I believe "success is a journey, not a destination." In other words, we are all life-long students, and we should never be content with stopping the learning process. The goal should be to continue advancing our knowledge and expertise in different areas. Not only will it make us more balanced, but it will allow us to adapt and grow as new discoveries and advances are made. My hobbies are running, hiking, swimming, and watching the San Antonio Spurs play! I look forward to helping you on your educational journey and can't wait to see you excel and advance your learning potential.
I am a Spaniard born with chalk dust in my veins! My passion for the teaching profession led me to complete my Doctor of Education degree: ESL. I am a lifelong learner who enjoys experiencing new cultures around the world. My background in linguistics and the Latin language has greatly enriched the way I approach the teaching of second or foreign languages. At risk of falling into clich, I consider Theodore Roosevelt's words to be the benchmark for great educators: "They do not care how much you know until they know how much you care."
