I have always enjoyed helping others understand class material especially math. I was frequently called upon to help my friends and classmates in high school. That is where I made the decision to become a teacher. Both my parents were teachers so, you could say, I am fulfilling the legacy. I am currently working towards a bachelors degree in middle level education at Illinois State University. Apart of my degree, I will receive certifications to teach science and mathematics at grades 5-8. I have been working with students throughout my time in college both large and small groups, as well as individual tutoring of 5th grade students. When I was in high school, I remember seeing the joy of my math teachers when they would teach in class. This inspired me to become a high school math teacher.
