I have a PhD degree in physics. I have been tutoring physics and math for years. I tutored high school students in physics and math in Taiwan when I was in college. During my PhD career, I taught general physics classes to non-physics students. As of now, my work is related to physics research with physics professors and scientists. I'm a recent Graduate of Georgia State University that has a Bachelors in Spanish/International Business. As a young child, I lived in a predominately Spanish speaking neighborhood. I learned a few words and phrases and that is where my love of that Spanish language and culture began. Since then it have grown to a general interest in various languages around the world but I'm still passionate about Spanish. Teaching is my passion. I was fortunate enough to discover this upon graduating from college, and every job I have had since involves teaching of some kind. I always wanted to be an English teacher, and I realized my dream in 2006. Since then, I have come to find that my favorite type of work is helping students achieve a level of reading comprehension that helps them not only understand critical passages, but also real-world materials. I think in English classes, we assume that students do always get the main idea, but as I keep teaching, I realize that reading critically is a skill we must work on. I've been a teacher and a tutor for years, and I haven't yet come close to settling on a subject.
