My ambition is to impact the world one person at a time. I believe education should not be restricted to only scholastic based teachings, but should also expand into teachings that mold good character, honorable values, and conviction to always strive to be one's best.

I am a graduate of the University of North Texas. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and have approximately 30 hours of graduate level hours in reading instruction. I have experience working as a substitute teacher, tutor, and teaching assistant in grades K-6 as well as adult learners in a large lecture class. As a tutor I have experience preparing students for the Texas state required STARR test in reading, writing, and math as well as getting them motivated and excited to learn skills that they will use to enrich rest of their life. I believe that tutoring should be fun and engaging, related to the student's interests as well as emotional and educational needs. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, creative writing, shopping, and spending time with family, friends, and my dog.

Hi everyone! My name is Koko. I'm a native of Japan who moved to the U.S. for college. After graduate school, I stayed in the US and worked in public education before taking a break to raise my kids. I'd be a great tutor for students who just started learning Japanese, or those who've already learned vocab and grammar, but haven't had an opportunity to practice speaking. I can help you with sentence structure, pronunciation, and conversational skills. I can also teach casual, everyday Japanese that is often skipped in formal Japanese language curricula. If you have any textbooks or lesson plans that you want to go over together, I would be happy to help. My parents live in Japan, and I often visit them. I enjoy talking about Japanese culture, giving travel tips, and Japanese food. Can't wait to meet you in my class!
I am a composer and pianist currently living in Tucson, AZ. My experience in teaching both academic and performing arts curricula as a graduate student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst helped me develop a teaching style that focuses on experiential learning and personal communication, asking questions and allowing students to explore new ways of thinking while attempting to facilitate creative and critical approaches to learning. As a former homeschooled student, I have been able to develop strong organizational and independent study skills that I hope to share with my students, and as a musician and improviser I value and encourage creative thinking and curiosity in my approach to teaching and learning.
I graduated from the University of North Texas Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Integrative Studies. I tutor the LSAT with a particular focus on Logic Games. There is no universal approach to the LSAT, different strategies work for different students, and I try to tailor my instruction to students abilities and learning styles.

As a special education teacher in middle schools for the past 4 years, I love helping students overcome struggles and improve in their learning. My favorite subjects to tutor are Math and Writing. My college degree is in Psychology from the University of North Texas, and since then I have also received my teaching certification.
I work with secondary and post secondary students on all topics ELA. I have 12 years of experience in education, 9 years of that at the high school level. I have Master's degrees in Education and English, and I am both ELA and ESL certified. I taught Intro to College Writing and Intro to College Literature in grad school.I've read all your required reading a million times. Best high school required reading- Gatsby, worst- Fahrenheit 451.
I breathe English. I have been writing seriously since middle school, and I've won a number of writing contests over the years. In May 2019 I graduated from the University of North Texas with a BA in English and a concentration in creative writing. I particularly enjoy revising/editing stories and essays but can also help with Literary Analysis, Composition, etc as well as most standardized tests and middle school/high school subjects. I'm friendly and passionate about helping other people in any way I can. I'm pretty funny (I hope) so we should have a great time while we're working. My primary goal is helping my clients develop as students/writers, and I will do my absolute best to make sure they understand anything we go over during sessions. Please don't hesitate to contact me! (P.s. If you find a way to work a Game of Thrones reference into your message, you'll probably make my day.)
I strive to learn new things every day. I graduated from the University of North Texas two years ago, and I find myself drawn to learning environments and seeking out new knowledge. Possessing a curious mind has lead me to many opportunities to not only learn more, but to teach others as well. I think there is nothing better than seeing someone's face light up with understanding, finally reaching that "ah-ha" moment, and being a part of that just makes it all the better. I have experience tutoring groups of students in US History, Art History, and German. I have the most experience in both German and History tutoring. I am conversational in German and constantly read novels that are written in German. As for History, I tutored with my university for five semesters, and created different activities that were later incorporated to the program. Art History is a personal favorite of mine and it is one of the two degrees I hold, the other being Anthropology.Having taught many different types of people, I learned that there is no one way to teach someone. Everyone learns differently and it is important to find out the learning style that fits each student, while still being able to have fun. When working with groups this can be hard at times, different people will learn at different paces, and so it is always important to remember to keep everyone interested and paying attention. Creating activities for a group atmosphere is something that I have a lot of experience with and excel at. Lastly, I believe that one of the most important things to keep in mind is relating the information back to the students interests, keeping them motivated and excited to learn more.
I believe education is essential to all children's success in life. Education is necessary for a child's growth and development. This requires the help of great parents, teachers, and community. Learning never stops and I believe every child is capable of learning, therefore it must be a central focus in their life.

I first began tutoring during grad school, but educating others has been a part of my life since second grade, when my teacher paired me with a struggling student for the majority of the school year and pleaded with me to help him stay on track. I can still remember quietly whispering variations of the instructions to him and helping him complete his work after I'd finished mine. This propensity to help struggling workers has stayed with me. Although I didn't study education in college or grad school, I left school feeling quite passionate about helping other succeed. I applied and was accepted to Teach for America, where I was assigned to teach at an inner-city middle school in Dallas, Texas. I asked to be paired with the students who were having the hardest time finding traction in the academic setting and went on to teach variations of remedial and intervention reading for the next six years. Alongside these intervention courses, I have also taught general ed Social Studies and English.I believe that everyone wants to be good at the work given to them, but that not everyone is set up for success at every venture along the way. My goal is to meet students where they are, assure them that it's okay to be there, and motivate them to want to take that next step when they're ready. Once we've reached that point, I can step in and provide all the tools and strategies necessary to succeed!I am patient and calm with my students and always try to keep a smile and a sense of humor throughout the tutoring session. I hope to bring confidence and inspiration to all who reach out for help!

I am passionate about fostering a love for learning in my students, which is reflected in my approach as a tutor. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of North Texas, I focus on subjects such as Elementary Reading and Writing, Middle School Science, and Chess. My tutoring experience, though under a year, has allowed me to develop a student-centered methodology, emphasizing engagement and understanding. I believe that every student has unique strengths, and my goal is to create a supportive environment that encourages academic growth. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy exploring various strategies in chess and reading about psychological principles, which further enrich my teaching practice.

I have a passion for teaching and receive great enjoyment from others succeeding academically and professionally. I have a wide array of experience and interests that allow me to help nearly every student.I can tutor math subjects, economics, accounting, reading, and writing. I really enjoy reading papers, surprisingly I know! I can give you all kind of grammatical suggestions along with organizing your thoughts. I have been teaching and tutoring LSAT prep for over ten years. I have a Bachelor's in English from the University of Dallas, a JD from Boston College Law School, a second Bachelor's in Music from Texas Woman's University, and a master's in Musicology (music history) from the University of North Texas. I practiced law for a little more than five years, first in Massachusetts, then in Texas (yes, I took and passed both bar exams the first time). I practiced predominately Immigration law, and left the practice of law because of a medical condition. When I stopped practicing is when I returned to school for my music degrees and started teaching. I love the LSAT because I think the questions are all fun puzzles and I can see the connections between the questions and skills I used as a lawyer. I enjoy working with students to help them find the tweaks to their thinking that help them work efficiently and accurately. I approach the material through dialogue with the student so that I can learn how the student sees the material and work together to identify key aspects of the test questions and how to distinguish right answers from wrong answers.

I find immense joy in guiding students through challenging concepts and celebrating their successes, which motivates me to continuously refine my methods. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy exploring new technologies and engaging in hands-on projects, which further enrich my teaching and connect with my students' interests.
I first became interested in primary tutoring when I began tutoring my classmates when I was in 8th grade. I continued tutoring throughout high school and college. I have experiences teaching in Nepal and India, which also gives me an edge over other applicants. Over the years, I learnt that I love seeing people learn and get concepts they didn’t before. I am a recent graduate from University of North Texas with a major in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry and Psychology. I aim to give learning opportunities to students and engage, motivate and prepare them for future education, no matter what academic level they are at.
I am a graduate of the University of North Texas. I received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Jazz Studies with a focus on Performance. I began teaching while in school, working with local high schools and private lesson studios, teaching both individual lessons and leading larger ensembles and classes. I am committed not just to sharing my passion for music, but ensuring that my students understand the foundations and structure of what they are learning in an intuitive way so that they are completely prepared to meet the academic and creative challenges they will face. In my experience, most students with difficulty in music simply need help connecting the more simple concepts together and reinforcing the language that we use to describe these concepts. I seek to find and rebuild these missed connections to help students find success in academia and beyond.
I am a student at the University of North Texas where I am studying a double major. These majors are Japanese and Theatre. I am hoping to become a film actor. I graduated from a high school in Oklahoma where I was valedictorian of my class. I have tutored kids from elementary up to middle school. I have also tutored special needs students in a tutoring program at my middle school. I tutor a variety of subjects, but I am very passionate about English, Reading, and Math. I love teaching English and Reading because as a Theatre major, I have to read a lot of plays. I love delving into the very essence of a character. I also love understanding everything when it comes to the plot of a story and why we read these stories. I love being able to express to students that school is important. I like getting to change someone's perspective on school. You don't need to dread it, you can enjoy it if you really try and see your success in the end. In my free time, I love playing video games, reading, and watching TV and movies.
Though I have not graduated from college, I am an excellent tutor because I have prior tutoring experience and have exhibited excellence in math throughout my scholastic career. I love to help others, and especially help others do their best. I am always open to help someone in need of help. I have helped friends and family increase their performance in math ever since I was in the 8th grade. I feel that any student can achieve anything if they are equipped with the correct tools and skills. I work well with others, and I can connect with almost anybody. I am a natural leader. I'm a great motivator, and I have given several motivational speeches throughout my career. My tutoring goals are simple: to equip students with skills to achieve their own goals, to brighten their day, and to encourage students and let them know it is possible that they can (and will) excel in math, or any other subject, with my help.
I have been teaching and private tutoring for many years. I feel I am quite good at figuring out how to help a child understand something by presenting the material to them in different ways until they understand. I have taught in situations over the years where without training I have had to learn how to accommodate students with different learning styles.
I am passionate about helping elementary students build confidence and have fun with math! I believe every child can succeed, and I celebrate small victories because small growth leads to big progress over time. My motto is "Beat your yesterday"focusing on doing a little better each day and setting achievable goals that build confidence. I create a positive, encouraging environment where mistakes are opportunities to learn and every student feels capable and empowered.

I am a graduate of the University of North Texas, where I received my Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Finance and Financial Services. Upon graduation, I began working in the mortgage industry as a Loan Officer and later as a Mortgage Broker. After a successful career in the Finance Industry, I decided to pursue my other passion in Computer Science, and began working for Fortune 500 companies such as Dell and IBM as a Network Software Engineer. I should mention that I have my certifications in A+, Network+, CompTIA IT Operations Specialist CIOS Stackable, MCP, IBM AIX, and AWS Cloud Practitioner and AWS Solutions Architect Associate . A few years later, I caught the travel bug and decided that I wanted to travel and teach English, so I obtained my TESL Certification from Oxford Seminars at the University of St. Edwards in Austin, Texas and moved to Taiwan where I began my ESL teaching career, where I taught ages 7 to 22 years old. During my time in Taiwan, I was awarded a scholarship for a 1-year Intensive Mandarin course. In addition to Taiwan, I have lived and worked in Guatemala, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Peru, and I am fluent in Spanish. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, my primary focus is on professional certifications such as A+, Network+, AWS; however, I also help prepare for students with TOEFL and SAT entrance exams, as well as helping foreign business professionals improve their Business and Legal English. I am also a Business and Marketing Strategist and Consultant with over 15 years of experience. I am passionate about helping students achieve the success they desire and helping them overcome the barriers that prevent them from having that success. In my experience, success is determined not by what talents or skills you may have, but how much time and effort you are willing to put into mastering those desired skills. As stated by the "10,000 Hour Rule" by Malcolm Gladwell, only after you have dedicated yourself to 10,000 hours of work towards a specific skill can you become a master at it. In my experience, I find this to be true with myself and with my students. Outside of teaching, I practice meditation, yoga, and exercise daily as a self-discipline. I also enjoy cooking, traveling, reading, writing, learning new languages, nature hikes, waterfalls, Permaculture, Finance/Investing/Cryptocurrency, and taking care of my two beautiful dogs. I am focused constant personal development and I am dedicated towards constant self-improvement. If you are ready to take the steps towards improving your own personal development to achieve the success you desire, schedule a class today and I will help you on your path to success.

While completing my degree I tutored fellow students in multiple subjects in Math and Computer Science as well as Physics and Digital Logic. I am a happy husband and father and enjoy helping people grasp complicated subjects with approachable examples and real life applications.
I spent 30 years in the classroom. I believe that far too many students struggle in learning Math because they lack getting a strong grasp of the subject in the lower grades. I change my methods of teaching to find the best method for each student. I am certified for Elementary and Secondary (K-12). I have a Bachelors and Masters in Education with a Math specialty.
Throughout high school, I struggled in my Algebra classes, so I know what it is like to "not get it." As an adult, I FINALLY "got it!" I have been teaching Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 for the past 25 years, and I would have to say that my passion is helping students who struggle like I did. I pride myself on being able to explain things in a way that my students understand what it is that I am talking about. My work experience also includes 12 years at the community college level teaching College Prep Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Algebra. I have a BBA in Marketing, Texas Secondary Math Teacher Certification, ESL Certification, and a MS in School Counseling. I love working with high school students and I find great joy when I see my students not only learning, but having fun while doing so.
Hi! My name is Kavitya Sarma and I am a prematriculant student at the University of Chicago. In high school I took advanced STEM courses at the University of North Texas through a high school program called the Texas Academy of Math and Science. I love taking high level math courses, but I get even more excited when I can help friends and classmates in courses I have already taken. I believe that having a solid understanding of math concepts builds you up for success in any field. I have experience as a teaching assistant in pre-calculus and calculus and have experience tutoring and assisting students in high school math, calculus, and differential equations. When preparing students for standardized tests like the ACT and SAT, I focus on filling any gaps in material and teaching new techniques for making the test easier and quicker to take. I have used and perfected these techniques while taking the ACT and SAT myself and have had success on both tests. I am also a National Merit Finalist.
I am a rising senior at The University of North Texas in Denton. I am working towards my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish as well as English with a concentration in Creative Writing. I was raised in an academically competitive environment in Fort Bend County and my rigorous secondary education prepared me for success in college. I am a fortunate member of the Terry Scholarship Foundation, which has provided me and hundreds of other Texans with a private, four-year, full-ride scholarship. As a Terry Scholar, I am well-versed in all subjects and have taken on the role of mentor to many of the incoming freshmen. I have spent most of my free time in college as a nanny and tutor to families around the DFW area. I have experience with all age groups and there is nothing that intimidates me! While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Literature, History, Spanish, and Government/Social Studies. Through my experiences helping struggling students and peers, I have realized the value of adaptability. Most people reach out to a tutor because the traditional classroom method is not best suited for their learning needs. There is nothing more joyful than when a student finally understands the material in a way that makes sense to them. Many times, students need flexibility and patience in order to grasp a foreign concept. I am a firm believer in the power of education and I hope to share my love of learning with all of my students. After graduation I plan on returning to Houston to obtain my Master of Arts in Teaching from Rice University. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and writing anything from poetry to screenplays. I have also been involved in competitive dance for most of my adolescence, so I understand the balance of academics and extracurriculars.
