I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington with my Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics, and have recently been accepted for my PhD in Astrophysics at the University of New Mexico. I am extremely passionate about physics and mathematics because they perfectly intertwine to bring us elegant descriptions of our universe and profound insights into the nature of reality. Throughout my time in my studies, I found myself sharing what I learned in my classes to my friends and family; this lead me to realize my call to teaching. I have been teaching the astronomy labs at my university for 3 years and recently taught high school physics for the Upward Bound program. I love teaching introductory physics and calculus because they lay the groundwork for understanding higher level concepts. Currently, I am involved in researching the environments of supermassive blackholes and tests of General Relativity. Outside of academics, I love playing video games, reading fantasy books, and playing my guitar.

I'm a masters student studying Linguistics at the University of Texas in Arlington. My passion is analyzing languages all over the world. I have published 115 academic books and articles. During my teaching career I have lived in Spain, Peru, Brazil, Guatemala, and Papua New Guinea. I have worked for 40 years as a professor and field researcher, documenting minority languages. For ten of those years I lived among native groups in the Amazon jungle, where I met my wife! My organization has translated the Bible into more than 1500 languages in 133 countries. My favorite subject to teach is phonology (sound patterns). I love to help students learn how to pronounce new and difficult sounds, including in Spanish. At my current university, the student body voted me the best professor two years in a row. I enjoy interacting with students one-on-one. I usually start by asking them diagnostic questions to find out their level of understanding. My personal philosophy is this: Readers are leaders; therefore, always know which book you are going to read next. In my leisure time I enjoy sports, chess, and playing with my son.

I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington in Biology with a chemistry minor. My fields of expertise include math and science.
