I have a master's degree in physics with research emphasis in astrophysics from San Francisco State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in physics and astronomy with a minor in math. Currently I am an adjunct instructor at Mesa Community College teaching astrophysics courses. I have four years of teaching experience in astronomy and physics lab courses at San Francisco State University. I acquired excellent teaching skills while I was a graduate student at San Francisco State University for which I even received an honor of outstanding physics teaching assistant from San Francisco State University. I was also a math instructor for a Summer Bridge program at San Francisco state University where my responsibility was to teach first year college algebra. I have tutored kids in the age group of 8 to 15 in the subject areas of science and math. I tutor math (calculus, differential equations, algebra, geometry and trigonometry) and science courses (physics, astrophysics, planetary science). I enjoy teaching in general and am passionate about math, physics and astronomy. I firmly believe that education is one of the most important tools in shaping a child's life and I would love to be a part of that process. Hello! My name is Hunter, and I am excited to be your tutor! I am currently a Ph.D. student at New Mexico State University in the Experimental Psychology Program. I am a sociocognitive psychologist, and am currently conducting research on cross-cultural religiosity and prejudice.I am currently a Teaching Assistant for upper-division undergraduate students at my university, and starting next Spring I will be a full-fledged teacher at the undergraduate level. I took both International Baccalaureate courses in addition to Advanced Placement courses in high school, and have been involved in Honors courses and extra-curricular research activities since the beginning of my undergraduate education. Additionally, I have volunteered at the Student Success Center in multiple educational institutions.I was a struggling student at certain points along the way in my academic career, and I valued the people who helped me get through both issues with comprehension and motivation, and fostered the skills within me to get to where I am today! It is my goal to provide those types of opportunities to all students alike, because we all have skills that can be cultivated with the proper tools!

I am a qualified teacher and tutor with over 6 years of combined experience in foreign languages (French, Russian, ESL), language arts, SAT/GRE training as well as other humanities related subjects. I received my BA in French with a minor in language studies from San Francisco and am now in the process of finishing my MA degree (in NJ) as well. Hello! I received a BA in English from San Francisco State University and I have recently relocated to the Austin area to pursue a Master's degree in Ethnomusicology. For the last year, I have been tutoring in the Washington, DC area while doing an internship with Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, the non-profit record label of the Smithsonian Institution. I find tutoring very fulfilling because with one-on-one interaction, students can take major strides towards achieving their academic goals. My main tutoring subjects are English and Writing. Often times, the biggest hurdle people have to overcome with Writing is confidence. I like to create a positive, encouraging environment, which i believe is necessary for learning. I then break composition down into its fundamental components in order to demystify the process. Once a student thoroughly understands the elements of writing, they can deliberately and elegantly construct any academic or personal essay . Outside of writing, my other main interest is music. Ever since I could pick up a pen, I have had an insatiable need to write. My passion for writing and communicating culminated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. I would now like to use my experience and expertise to inspire and improve others.I believe that success starts with inspiration and connection. I am a graduate of San Francisco State University's Master of Fine Arts Program in Creative Writing, and I received my Bachelor's degree in Literature at Texas A&M University.
