I went to Lesley University in Cambridge Ma for my Master's degree and it is Severe Special Needs. I was a special needs teacher for 14 years after that. I worked mostly with students in Elementary School and with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have experience with children with many other disabilities as well. When the pandemic happened I decided to be a stay at home mom to help my children with their school work.I love teaching and it is my greatest passion. I greatly enjoy when children understand the littlest things. My favorite part is watching the light bulb go off when they get it! My teaching philosophy is to have fun. You are not learning if you're not enjoying what you are doing!

My degree is in secondary mathematics. I have taught for 33 years and have a love of mathematics that I would like to share. I have taught several years of dual credit: Pre-Calculus, Statistics, M115, Calculus 1. I am honest, patient and willing to help students achieve their goals.
"Learning from her is easy, I finally like math now, Excellence in education, Scores and confidence have grown", are just a few student/parent comments. Because I believe everyone can learn, I have a passion to discover how each learns best. With engaging lessons I support & challenge all learners ensuring that each one is engaged, and reaching their goals. Math is my passion - double Masters in Math/Education Leadership and years of "exemplary teacher ratings". I am a recipient of the "Golden Apple of Excellence" award which recognizes me as a master in my content and an expert in best practices at middle, high and university levels, but most important a compassionate mentor. My personal passions include solving mysteries/puzzles. I golf, swim and spend time in my garden. I love music and animals. In addition to caring for my two pets, I have volunteered time an participated in walk/runs on their behalf. I look forward to learning your passions and supporting your math success.
I have a master's degree in special education from Lesley University. After I graduated in 2000, I joined as a middle school special education teacher in Maryland. While instructing my students, I realized they didn't have foundational skills in math, reading, and writing. It was too hard for them, and I felt demoralized that I could not help them. To make a real difference, I began teaching elementary school students. My focus was always on targeted instruction on skill development. I emphasized small group/differentiated instruction where students received almost individualized instruction. I was most interested in English Language Arts because if a student cannot read, then they cannot do well in any other subject. Later, I became a literacy coach and eventually a reading specialist. During that time, I mentored teachers and provided classroom support, but I always worked with students in small groups or one one-on-one throughout my career which expanded for about twenty years. During this time, I worked mostly with elementary school students who were performing significantly below grade level in English Language Arts. I have taken extensive training in teaching reading including Orton Gillingham Associate level (completed practicum), Wilson Reading Overview, Lindamood Bell, and others.

I have several years of experience in academic writing tutoring, in writing across various disciplines, through undergraduate and graduate writing centers. In that work I've called upon my academic writing experience, as well as my desire to connect and learn with other people. I hope to work with you soon!
I have my BA in History from Salve Regina University, and my Master's in Education from Lesley University. I have been teaching and tutoring for the past four years in the greater Boston area. I am a certified teacher for history grades 8-12 and have teaching experience in both middle schools and high schools. I have tutored all ages and love working with many subjects such as History, ELA, Writing and developing Math skills with younger students! I have worked with many students on IEPs and love to help them strengthen their organization and focus. I believe that my teaching style adapts to ensure that each student can reach their full potential. By understanding where students have weaknesses, we can improve in these areas so that their grades improve and that they feel more confident. Outside of tutoring, I love to spend time with my family, friends and my dog.
I am a graduate of Columbia College where Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. Additionally I received a Master in Education degree from Lesley University. I have been a teacher for 18 years. 14 of those years, I devoted my time in the classroom as a full time teacher. The most recent 4 years I transitioned to being a Math Interventionist. Being a teacher has been a rewarding experience for me. Knowing that I have helped shape and nurture students has filled my heart with joy and contentment. Most recently as a Math Interventionist, I was able to work 1:1 or in a small group with students. Also, I was able to tailor lessons to meet their learning needs and help them build and enhance their number sense/fluency. Many students were afraid to struggle or make mistakes. I help to build their confidence and reassured them that mathematicians will make mistake and struggle from time to time. My job as an educator has always been to motivate students to become independent thinkers and confident learners. These are the qualities they need to have in order to be successful individuals in society.
After graduating in 2007 from Clark University with a business degree, I went straight into account management, and remained in various similar positions for seven years. Knowing that these jobs were not what my heart truly desired, I looked into pursuing my dream of working with children, and started graduate school at Lesley University in 2014. I completed my degree requirements in December 2015 and will have my Masters in Elementary Education (1-6) degree conferred in February 2016. I have my SEI endorsement and initial licenses in elementary education and mathematics (1-6).Since September of 2014 I have been working as a kindergarten paraprofessional at the Carlton Innovation School in Salem, MA. I also provide substitute coverage when needed in classrooms throughout the school. My experiences as a para range from assisting the kindergarten teacher with classroom management to leading full class instruction if she is unavailable. I have also taken a role as an in home tutor for a student at the Carlton who has a medical condition which requires him to be hospitalized for three days each month. I have worked with him weekly since he was in the third grade, and he is now a fourth grade student. During my student teaching I led full class and small group lessons. I planned and taught a week long Lucy Calkins literacy unit and worked with a guided reading group. I proctored many assessments, including the Fountas and Pinnell benchmark assessment system, MCAS and ANet. I executed a week-long fifth grade mathematics unit and gained knowledge of the EnVision math curriculum. Through these experiences I have built strong personal relationships with my students, parents, and school staff.
Hello! My name is Samaa Moosa, but everyone calls me Sam. I'm Egyptian-American, with degrees in Math and Sociology. I love helping students see the patterns in mathematics and the reasons behind its mechanics. As someone who moved back and forth between America and Egypt, I worked very hard in middle school and early high school to ensure I improved my reading comprehension and writing. And as someone who majored in sociology and a lover of classical novels, I am comfortable reading heavy texts, so I can definitely help you improve your reading skills. I also worked diligently to ensure my writing was concise and clear, so I'd be happy to work with you to develop a successful writing process.
MY goal is to make a students life a little bit easier with each session by staying on top of their work and understanding the content to the best of their abilities. School can be hard and a significant stressor in a child's life and I will aim to help reduce that stress and hopefully make school more enjoyable.
I believe education is an important step for children to have a promising future. Given the right tools, scholars will be anything they want to be. One of those tools is becoming an effective learner. Given a strong foundation students can achieve anything
From Kindergarten through graduate school, I help students overcome obstacles, clearing the pathway to success. As a tutor and educator for over 20 years, I care about my students and work hard for them. I am a dedicated teacher because I believe that education can change lives. As a reading specialist, I have developed strategies based on Orton Gillingham methodology, which guides struggling readers to become fluent readers.
