Hello My name is Chenelle Mines! I have been in the education field for 13 years specializing in PreK-third grade! I also work with special education students as well. I will be graduating with my bachelors degree in early childhood education and special education in May of 2022. I love to teach all subjects but my favorites are reading, writing and math. I have been an educator for 11 years. I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Natural Science from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2004 and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University in 2010. I have taught all ages, from kindergarten, to high school, to adult learners, both in a classroom setting, as well as in a homeschooling setting and in individual tutoring sessions. My joy and passion is teaching, especially when I can see the students that I work with grow in their understanding and knowledge and really start to "get it". Not only am I teaching reading, writing, math, and other specialized skills, I am also instilling confidence, self esteem, and belief into the students I work with. It is so very exciting for me to see students develop and blossom over time. My hope is that my passion for teaching will be felt and that I can connect with my students that will positively impact their academic futures, both in the short term and in the long term.

For my undergraduate education I attended Arizona State University and graduated with a Bachelor's in Communication and a Bachelor's in Psychology. Now, I am pursuing a Master's degree in Communication with an emphasis in Education. I currently work at Grand Canyon University as an Instructional Assistant for a few classes, meaning that I assist different professors with day-to-day tasks. Due to my job I work regularly with students in a variety of courses such as Sociology, Communication, and Psychology. I also help many students with their academic papers, lending a hand in terms of making sure they answer all parts of the paper and that everything flows smoothly. For me, the best moments are when I can sit down with a student that doesn't understand the content and through some time and effort, help them reach that "A-ha moment" where it all clicks together.

I tutor to empower students to be successful throughout life. I have 17 years of teaching experience. I have experience tutoring SAT, ACT, HSPT, and ISEE. I am certified to teach Spanish (K-12). I have a bachelor's degree in Education and a master's degree in the Art of Teaching.

Educating students for over 10 years has been a privilege. Particularly gratifying is the opportunity to witness my pupils progress in mathematics. After teaching math for nearly a decade, I completed my graduate work last year in Educational leadership with a follow up credential in administration. In the past, my students in mathematics routinely have returned to visit, sharing their continued successes following what was learned as a member of my classroom. I want to continue to help children "get it" as they are called on to rise to new heights in an increasingly competitive academic and occupational climate. I have decided to continue within the Varsity Tutors platform with the goal of increasing the scope of students I can assist in their math skills development.

I am passionate about helping students because I was one of those students that struggled, but had wonderful support to succeed. I believe every student deserves the support necessary to succeed in whatever goals they have. I have worked within grades 1 to 6, and have found that they enjoyed my method that focuses on rapport building and using that rapport to help relate students to what they are learning. I got my education at Grand Canyon University, graduating with a dual Bachelor degree in elementary and special education. I also have an associates degree in general studies as well as credits in an associates in English, with credits in nonfiction as well as fiction/folklore reading and writing. With my background and experiences, I tutor math, reading, and writing, but am passionate about supporting students in science and social studies. If students need help with reading as well as science and/or social studies, I use the passages from science and/or social studies to target reading comprehension skills that need support.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in English and a Master's degree in Secondary Education, with a focus on the humanities. Hello,My name is Jake. I am currently getting my Masters in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University. I am currently pursuing a career in teaching middle and early high school math. I believe that math is not just numbers, but a way to see and interpret the living world. I have experience teaching and tutoring in China, Thailand, Vietnam, and the US. I am also qualified to teach English as a Second Language.

As an educator, I strive to do what is best for my students and work with them at their level to help them be successful. As a middle school math teacher, I have encountered hundreds of students in my six years of teaching and each of them felt that growth was achievable with the right mindset. This is my ask of all of my students, I understand that you may not grasp that skill right away. Be persistent. Be okay with failing. But never give up on yourself! This is where I can help you grow as a student. I have a passion for math, specifically the Pre-Algebra and Algebra sections. I like to think of myself as an analytical thinker and someone that enjoys a great puzzle. Many of skill needed in math require thinking to be successful. This also builds problem solving skills.

I have been teaching for over 25 years. I received my Masters degree in Elementary Education. I currently teach Kindergarten online. I love watching my students learn and grow. My most important role is to instill a love for learning!
