I am a graduate of Clark Atlanta University. I received a Master of Arts degree in Counselor Education with a focus in Community and Mental Health Counseling. I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia State University in Middle Grades Education. I am a certified teacher in Language Arts, as well as Reading. I taught 6th and 7th graders English Language Arts over the course of three years. My specialty is writing; I am currently composing three books. I pride myself in finding relatable and engaging techniques to meet the needs of any age group. As a teacher, I collaborated with my resistant and challenged writers to make writing enjoyable and not unbearable. I am always overjoyed when my students that would only write a few sentences in the beginning of the school year can produce five-paragraph essays towards the middle of the school term. In between summers, I have tutored students on ACT and SAT preparation with emphasis on the Reading and Writing components. Nervous and anxious test takers leave my tutoring sessions feeling like victors! I am excited to working with your child in preparing them for either academic or test prep victories.
I am passionate about helping students because I believe in the transformative power of education. Watching a student overcome challenges and gain confidence in their abilities is incredibly rewarding. My experience includes working with students across various age groups, focusing on building their understanding and skills. I completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Public Health from Southern New Hampshire University and am currently working toward my doctorate in Public Health. I tutor subjects like science, math, and English, with a special love for science because of its relevance to everyday life. My teaching philosophy emphasizes a student-centered approach, fostering critical thinking and active engagement. Outside of academia, I enjoy fitness, exploring the beauty industry, and reading.
When it comes to helping individuals learn, it has always been something I enjoyed. I love to help others learn and see their growth in the process. I hold a master's degree in early childhood education, as well as my teaching certification. I have been working with elementary students on their academics for over 10 years. I first started out helping elementary students by tutoring them in my after-school program. Shortly after I decided to work in the classroom where I taught kindergarten for four years and I am currently teaching 3rd grade.During this time, I also tutored after school with students at my school and students at a learning center. I believe all children can learn you just have to find out what works for them. I look at the student's needs while taking into consideration what we need to work on during each lesson. I hope I can make a difference in your child's life by helping them grow not only academically but have more motivation to always try their best.
I became a NYC teacher to inspire and motivate students to strive for success, even in the face of adversity. I believe that the gates of large goals are lined with small accomplishments (Heath and Heath, 2010), and I require students to take ownership of their daily learning through consistent collaboration and continuous assessment. I create lessons that are reachable, specific and incorporate cross-curricular extended opportunities and technology-based instruction, to increase student engagement. There is definitely autonomy through accountability and students should be responsible for taking assessments and using their performance data to identify their specific learning needs. I use data to target and differentiate classroom instruction and meet student learning needs. I consider myself a lead learner among my colleagues. Academic optimism and growth mindset through reflection among peers is important. I collaborate with my colleagues to support their continual growth and improvement as educators.
I have a masters degree in Reading and Literacy, as well as a graduate certification in teaching Exceptional Children. I love reading, writing, teaching, gardening, and baking.I believe in providing support for all students with whom I interact as they strive to reach their own educational goals. I will use my advanced degrees and professional training to offer specific support in academic areas to students of diverse academic needs.I also believe in providing engaging and rich academic content through rigorous and meaningful experiences. It is important that the academic and social and emotional needs of all students are met to aid in their overall development as citizens of our society.
I've been writing code since the 1980s FORTRAN and C, then C++ and scripting, HTML and Perl in the early 90s, through PHP, Python, JavaScript, CSS, and frameworks like React, Angular, and Node.js today. I also bring 40 years of AutoCAD and 20+ years of 3ds Max experience, plus certifications in Microsoft and Linux systems administration. I also tutor young children in reading and English work I love deeply and take seriously. For students of any age, I hold a Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis and am a doctoral candidate in I/O Psychology specializing in Human-Computer Interaction. That training shapes how I teach: I understand where people get stuck and how to build skills that actually stick. Whether you're seven and learning to read or twenty-five learning your first programming language, I bring patience, precision, and four decades of real-world experience to every session.
I hold an associate degree in Funeral Services from Milwaukee Area Technical College. I have been a licensed funeral director for the last 19 years in Wisconsin. In 2019, I decided that it was time to share my passion for education with others. I attended Capella University, obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, and immediately returned to complete my Master of Science in Educational Psychology this spring. During my return to college, the Covid-19 pandemic took all of our lives and shook them upside down. Being in school as a psychology student has helped me deal with the unique challenges brought on by the pandemic that we still experience today with the addition of hybrid and virtual learning environments. While I can tutor a wide breadth of subjects, my education passion is in the field of psychology. Psychology is more about studying the roots of behavior and how our interactions in our environment change how we behave. Being able to link the theories and concepts of psychology to real-world behavior is an important step in understanding and grasping the concepts and theories better. I encourage people to challenge themselves to better understand concepts and theories by seeing how they are applicable in their lives or environments. Seeing and interacting with a concept outside of a textbook or material changes the way we learn and ignites a passion for learning that is important for educational advancement. I enjoy reading, watching movies, kayaking, and spending time with my children in my free time.
I have been an invested educator for over 16 years teaching what I love the most, English Language Arts and Reading. I love to show students reading and writing strategies to help them improve their performances in their classes.
Welcome! My name is Brittany. I have been a nurse for over 10 years. I have a Masters of Science in Nursing eduction degree. I have taught nursing students in the field for over 5 years when they work alongside me during clinical. I have been tutoring for NCLEX for over 3 years. I have taken the NCLEX-LPN and NCLEX-RN and passed both times on the first try. I have a wide variety of nursing experience that includes long term care, wound care, critical care, and pediatrics
As a passionate educator and full-time ICU nurse currently pursuing my master's in nursing education at Capella University, I am dedicated to helping students excel in NCLEX-RN preparation. Although I have experience in tutoring, I understand the importance of fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. My approach emphasizes building connections with students, tailoring lessons to meet their unique needs, and encouraging critical thinking. I believe that every student has the potential to succeed, and I am motivated by the opportunity to empower them on their academic journey. In addition to my academic pursuits, I enjoy drawing, which allows me to incorporate creativity into my teaching methods.
I have been teaching students for 19 years and I love science. I truly enjoy teaching science and helping everyone see how fun it can be.
I am a graduate of Boise State University, where I received my bachelor of Science in Psychology, also Pennsylvania State University, and Capella University where I graduated with a master's degree in human Behavior. While obtaining my degrees as a single mother of two children, my son was diagnosed with ADHD and other learning disabilities. That is where I gained intimate knowledge of IEPs and 504 learning plans. It sparked my fascination with the psychology of people from all different backgrounds. I have worked with individuals with a broad range of different mental health diagnoses and learning styles. I have been homeschooling my seven-year-old granddaughter for the past year and a half (she also has ADHD). I utilize a variety of alternative tutoring methods from the typical school curriculum. I genuinely feel each child is a unique individual and therefore their tutoring should be tailored to their own learning style, strength, weaknesses, and personality whether it be audio, kinesthetic or visual. Previously, I was employed as a CBRS (Community Based Rehabilitation Specialist) worker. It enabled me to work with students of all ages from grade school through high school. The one-on-one work I did with each of those students reinforced that individuality plays an important role in their confidence, comprehension, and success. I'm proud to offer tutoring in Reading, Math, and Language, but I have to admit that Math is the subject I enjoy the most. I love that we are constantly building on knowledge previously obtained (I see it as growth in my mind). I also believe that it is vitally important to keep in mind that when a student is struggling, sometimes finding a lighter (less stressful) way to help them retain information lends a more successful result and a better attitude towards the study sessions. When I'm not in my teaching/tutoring element, I enjoy painting crafts from ceramics to mandalas on coasters, coloring, listening to music and playing board or card games with family.
