Hello! My name is Qays (like "rice" but with a "k" = "Kice") Abu-Saymeh, and I recently graduated from the University of Kansas Honors Program with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and Psychology. As an undergraduate teaching assistant for the introductory biology course in college, I focused on assisting the professor with teaching biological concepts in a one-on-one and group setting. I would assist by creating workshops that allowed me to assess student's learning and help with understanding specific materials that they struggled with. Additionally, weekly meetings were held with the professor and other teaching assistants to ensure student success by discussing their responses and preparing for administering the material for the following week. Through this experience, I have developed essential training skills for working with different learning preferences and accommodating student's needs resulting in positive feedback at the end of each semester with my students. Prior to college, I have had tutoring experience with students from K-12 years in many different subjects including Reading and Comprehension, Mathematics (Algebra to Calculus 3), Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science), and History. Leading sessions in these subjects with students helped them improve their proficiency in all areas and build on their learning skills. Having this knowledge, I also provide tutoring services for the ACT.As a future medical student, I have had great review over MCAT related subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Reading and Comprehension, Psychology, and Sociology.

In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, spending time with friends and family, gaming, hiking, biking, and going to the gym to workout. I love to engage in competitive tournaments for basketball whether it is at school or at the local recreation center. All of these hobbies allow me to achieve a well-balanced lifestyle!
