Use the following table to answer the question:
What color does red and yellow make?
To answer the question, let's look at the table.
We can see the first column shows the first colors, the next column shows the second colors, and the last column shows the new color. This table is showing what happens when you combine two colors, and the last column shows the new color created.
So, to find out which color red and yellow make, we will need to find the row that contains red and yellow as the first and second colors. We can see that is the second row.
Now, we will follow that row and move all the way to the last column to see what the new color is. We see that it says orange.
Therefore, the color that red and yellow make is orange.

Use the following table to answer the question:
What is Rachael's favorite color?
To answer the question, let's look at the table
The first column shows the different students. The next column shows their favorite color. The last column shows their favorite food.
Now, to find Rachael's favorite color, we will first find Rachael in the first column. We can see she is in the second row. Now, we will stay in the same row and move to the second column. We can see it says yellow.
Therefore, Rachael's favorite color is yellow.

Use the following table to answer the question:
What was Geoff's grade in Science?
To answer the question, let's look at the table
We can see the first column lists all of the students. The next column shows their grade in Math. The next column shows their grade in Science. The last column shows their grade in History.
So, to find what grade Geoff got in Science, we need to find his name in the first column. We can see that it is the 4th name listed.
Now, we will stay in the same row, and we will move to the column that lists all of the Science grades. We see that it says A.
Therefore, the grade Geoff got in Science is A.
Example Question #31 : How To Find The Answer From A Table
Use the following table to answer the question:
How many students are in History and Art?
To answer the question, let's look at the table
We can see the first column shows the different classes. The second column shows the number of students in the class.
So, to find the number of students in History and Art class, we will first find the number of students in History, then we will find the number of students in Art, then we will add them together.
So, to find the number of students in History, we will find the History class in the first column. We see it is the 3rd class listed. Now, we will move over to see the number of students in the class. We see it says 14.
To find the number of students in Art, we will find the Art class in the first column. We see it is the last class listed. Now, we will move over to see the number of students in the class. We see it says 12.
Now, we will add the number of students together.
Therefore, there are students in History and Art.
Example Question #51 : Data Analysis
Use the following table to answer the question:
How many books did Meagan borrow?
To answer the question, let's look at the table
We can see the first column shows the different students and the second column shows the number of books they borrowed.
So, to find how many books Meagan borrowed, we will first find her name in the first column. We see that it is the 2nd name listed.
Now, we will stay in that same row and move to the right to find the number of books she borrowed. We see that it says 4.
Therefore, the number of books Meagan borrowed is 4.

Use the following table to answer the question:
Who received the highest grade in Math?
To answer the question, let's look at the table
We can see the first column shows the different students. The next column shows their grades in Math. The next column shows their grade in Science. The last column shows their grade in History.
Now. to find who had the highest grade in Math, we will look at all the grades in Math. So, we will look at the Math column.
We can see there are grades A, C, B, C, and B. Looking at this, we can see that A is the highest grade. The grade A is the first grade listed. So, we will stay in this row, and move left to see which student it belongs to.
We can see it belongs to Jessica.
Therefore, the student who received the highest grade in Math is Jessica.
Example Question #31 : How To Find The Answer From A Table
Use the following table to answer the question:
What room do we go to for English class?
To answer the question, let's look at the table.
We can see the first column lists the classes and the next column shows which room the classes are in.
So, to find which room we will go to for English, we will first find English in the first column. We can see that it is the 2nd class listed.
We will stay in that row and move to the right (to the Room column). We can see that it says 5.
Therefore, the room we will go to for English is 5.

Now, we will stay in the same row and move to the left (to the Class column) to see which class it matches up with. We can see that it is Math.
Therefore, if we are going to room 1, then we are going to Math.

Now, we will stay in the same row, and we will move to the right to the last column (because the last column shows the students' favorite foods). We can see that it says steak.
