AP Art History Flashcards
The Advanced Placement Art History course (or more simply, AP Art History) covers the way that art has affected different cultures and societies throughout history, as well as the functions of certain pieces of artwork. There are 10 different content areas that students explore as they progress through the AP Art History course, and in preparation for the AP Art History exam, which has two parts: a section of multiple choice questions and a free response section.
Students in the AP Art History course may find that they are interested in using study aids to prepare for exams, instead of relying on their own in-class note taking skills. For those students, the Varsity Tutors’ Learning Tools Flashcards for AP Art History are an option. There are more than 500 flashcards covering a variety of sub-topics in art history, ranging from two dimensional art to three dimensional art and architecture, and sculptures from various world cultures. Within the flashcard set for two dimensional art, students will find cards that focus on the art of specific cultures (like Asian two dimensional art flashcards, or two dimensional art in global Islamic traditions); students will find cards that focus on art in specific periods of time (like ancient Grecian and Roman two dimensional art, and early Christian, Byzantine, and early Medieval two dimensional art). There are also flashcard sets on architecture in both the Renaissance and contemporary times.
Depending on the card, a student may find that they are identifying an artist, learning terminology, or answering questions about the specific theme of the card set, depending on which sub-category of flashcard they are working with.
Whether a student is able to study for hours at a time or only a few minutes to refresh their knowledge and reassure themselves before the test, the Learning Tools Flashcards for AP Art History provide an easy, accessible option. These flashcards are very simple to use and cover a wide range of topics. Users can choose a specific area of content within the set of Flashcards for AP Art History, or choose at random, with the overall topic. Each card uses the multiple choice format, asking a question and providing four answers for the user to choose from.
Students don’t have to answer every single question. They can pick and choose from the various sub categories of cards and can skip a flashcard or go back to flashcards that have already been examined. Students will know whether the answer was correct almost instantaneously, and will find out why, because each card provides context and explanation along with the answer.
When students create an account with Varsity Tutors, they can track how many cards they are giving correct answers to, as well as their Practice Test scores and progress, or even create their own customized Flashcards for AP Art History. For students looking for additional reinforcement of AP Art History topics, Varsity Tutors’ Learning Tools also include Full-Length Practice Tests, more than 100 Practice Tests, a Question of the Day series, and an interactive syllabus, called Learn By Concept.
Our AP Art History flashcards each contain one question that might appear on the AP Art History exam. You can use them to get a comprehensive overview of each topic covered on the AP Art History exam one problem at a time, or to do problem drills that focus on particular problem types or content areas found on the AP Art History exam.
