Being Thankful for Education by Zhané - November 2015 Scholarship Essay

Education is the key to success, but in my case it is the key to life. It withholds many aspects such as: it helping learning to be a creative experience, it being used as a technique used for creating situations that students can learn from, the mastery of various subject matters and etc. The purpose of education is to develop and stimulate people's minds intellectually, mentally, and morally. Without it, people would not have the knowledge of what the culture of society is like and how to do different things in order to live within a society. However, the meaning of education may be defined and interpreted in many ways. A student might think that education is just going to school and doing well in order to be successful, but a politician might think that it is a way to teach people how to become great citizens. Although education have different meanings, many will agree that it is effective for life itself. With the knowledge of all these aspects and meanings of education, it’s the aspect of preparing for life that is very important to me. It is the aspect of education that I am most thankful for because it improves the enjoyment of my inner mindset, help me become more efficient as a member of society, and helps me to earn a livelihood.

Education preparing me for life can improve my enjoyment of exploring my inner mindset. It helps me to work harder on everything that I do, in order to succeed. Having this quality helps me to prepare for life by getting me to think outside the box and think beyond measures possible. Being educated helps me to know what is going on in the world. It can also create maturity within the way I think or do certain things. An example of how it can improve my enjoyment of my inner mindset is politically. Usually most young adults vote in political campaigns based upon their parents’ insight and views. However with education and my own mindset, I can prepare myself politically in adulthood and vote according to what I think because of the education that I obtain. As a result of this, it can leave me with the enjoyment that I have made a decision based off of my educated mindset. Having a myopic and narrow-minded view of things can help me focus on one goal I may have in life to become successful. I can be ready for life before it even comes my way.

Being prepared for life through education can also help me become more efficient as a member of society. It can help me to get involved with my community. I can take on the challenge of deciphering a problem that is going on, and come up with with solutions for it. With this I can influence others and make a difference. Also in school education can help me become a more efficient member of society by being in a very socialized area. I can do things such as: interact with others, learn about other's cultural customs and traditions, and understanding others’ point of views. By doing these things I can learn about other people and become more socially involved. My way of thinking can exfoliate when feeding off others’ ideas. Therefore, all of these factors can help me become better connected with society and my community, preparing me for life.

Earning a livelihood as a factor from education preparing me for life, can benefit me and others tremendously. It could help me endure a great amount of money in the future. It will secure my necessities of life and reward me with the opportunity to go to college, live a great career, and financially secure me and my own family that I may want to have in the future. I can live the life that I have always dreamed of, plus more. Another benefit would be having the opportunity to take care of my mother and family the way they took care of me. I would be able to get my mother the things she has ever wanted but could not get because of her sacrificing what she wanted and sometimes what she needed, in order to provide me and my siblings with the stuff we needed. Being able to give back to her would be amazing, but most importantly being be able to give back to others across the world would be extremely tremendous. Donating to various charities, volunteering at different community events, and getting involved to make the world a better place, will help me to live life the right and most beneficial way. I would be ecstatic to be able to do these things and because of education I could and will have the opportunity to do so.

Being thankful for education preparing me for life, it can and will help me to become a better citizen within society, encourage me to enjoy and expanding my insight on things and helps me to earn a great and wonderful lifestyle. Though there are other aspects of education, having it prepare me for the real world will help me a lot more in the future. As it is interpreted and defined in various ways, it helps with life in general and for that I am thankful for education as a whole.
