Business Man by Matthew - December 2015 Scholarship Essay

My parents always say, “Math is the third most important subject in education after reading and writing.” Due to their high demand, getting a job will be extremely difficult if I don’t fully understand each of them. In ten years, I plan to either own a business or work in high ranks for successful businesses marketing products that will be useful to society. I would like to take part in innovating and improving the future. Math being my strongest and favorite subject, make this career ideal for me. I also plan to have a family in the future and a decent income. In order to make my family happy, I will need a good stable career. My objective is to not only improve the world but to live comfortably; going to college will make this dream possible. I’ve been taking business related classes since my freshman year in high school to better my understanding of business. As a result of my academic outreach, I graduated high school with a business endorsement.
My course of study will contribute to my future career plans. I have chosen the path of business marketing because the flow of money interests me. I often find myself thinking of different ways to improve my country’s economic system. We are in need of an efficient and more reliable economy. For many years, we have depended on various outside countries to provide goods and services for us that we can create for ourselves. We have everything we need in our country. Instead of spending so much money overseas, we should use our own natural resources. This will create many jobs for U.S. citizens on U.S. soil and save an abundance of U.S. dollars. Many huge corporations employ workers overseas and pay them below minimum wage in order to keep their pockets fat. This is selfish and is only making this county’s financial standpoint worse. In order to fix this problem, we need to simply come together as a nation and literally work together.
