Teachers are the Key to Success by Makala - November 2015 Scholarship Essay
Teachers are the Key to Success
Looking back on high school during your sophomore year of college, you may find that there are many reasons to truly be thankful about those last four years. Reasons such as, easier studying, having more free time or even having a close relationship with teachers. Many students do not appreciate these opportunities given to them. A large amount of students have come to believe that current teachers do not care about them or the impact that they leave on the school. However, it is to my own belief that most teachers do care and that is what I am most thankful for.
The speculation has come to surface that teachers may not care about the students or the school that they are teaching in. I personally find this absurd and believe that teachers do care and want the best for every individual. It is in these four years of high school that we meet teachers and friends that we create a bond with. A friendship that stays with us always. These bonds help with learning and creating our own positive path. Every teacher leaves their own impact on every student and these impacts are vital to how we choose our educational paths.
It is important to realize that teachers go through so much everyday so that students can get a proper education. They went through the college and the long nights of working so that we as students can have the same educational opportunity. Teachers choose to wake up extra early in the mornings and stay up late at night to finish grading and preparing work for the next day, and that is something most do not recognize. They chose a low paying career in hopes of creating a better future through the students. Our teachers are extremely under appreciated and deserve to be treated with more respect.
Moreover, I owe great appreciation to all my past teachers, they have shaped me into the person I am today. A person who is more than ready to help others and put my knowledge to good use. Every teacher I have come into contact with has taught me something valuable, whether it be, to always be kind to others, or to always keep yourself organized. All teachers have an impact to leave on every student. You may or may not notice it at first, but during your freshman year of college, you are going to be doing things that your teachers taught you for the better. That is going to leave you feeling completely grateful and truly blessed to have such great teachers.
In my opinion, most teachers care, they may show it in strange ways, but they do. Teachers leave a lasting impact on every student that can go with them forever. Teachers share their knowledge to students in hopes of creating a bigger, better and brighter future. This is why we owe our teachers everything. Without them, we would not be where we are today and where we want to be in the future.
