The Most Important Reslolution by Magdalena - January 2016 Scholarship Essay
One of my few New Year’s resolutions is to spend at least an hour a day either reading or studying. Most of my high school career I have been really good about studying for the up coming tests and making sure I knew what was going to be on the tests. However, like most seniors, I started slacking once my senior year came around. I have always been able to look the stuff over right before the test and get a pretty good grade on the test too, so once I knew that I got into the school I wanted too I started studying less and less. I am for the most part an A student, but I know that I can do better in school.
I am taking college classes at a community college near me. Being in those classes has really shown me that college is very different from high school. I took a math class and realized pretty quickly that I needed to actually start studying for the tests and not just right before it. I did not do very well in that class because of my lack of studying and I realized that I needed to change that. I knew I could have done better if I had put more of an effort into it. So I’m really glad I was able to take this class and help me see what college will be like next year with more than just two classes at a time.
I also am taking a class at my high school. I am taking Anatomy and Physiology which is also one of the hardest classes I have taken in high school.
I still get good grades on my tests, it is just not the best grade I could get or want. So out of my few New Years Resolutions, this will be the one that I will actually follow through all the way.
