New Student by Kayla - January 2016 Scholarship Essay
A New Student
Once the first of January hits it seems as if everyone has to have a New Year’s resolution. These resolutions usually include losing weight, eating healthier, and becoming more organized. Typically, these are not what most students choose when picking resolution for themselves during the school year. Students lean more towards gaining a higher GPA, improving study habits, and participate in multiple extra curricular activities.
At the start of 2016 I made a few resolutions. They included reaching a 4.00 GPA, study and take notes more efficiently, and join more after school activities involving volunteering. These resolutions are and will be very important to my future. With the efficiency of my note taking and studying I am more likely to get a 4.00. This will also help me possess new information for future use in college and the real world. When I am not focusing on my studies and have free time I hope to spend it volunteering at activities at my school or local shelters. Volunteering will help me learn basic, helpful, public qualities that I can use in my future occupation. These resolutions will better me as a student and as a person.
As 2016 begins I will put forth all my effort to reach my goals. All my resolutions will benefit me in a positive way. This year as a student I will not only help myself to stick with my resolutions but help my peers to start their own. 2016 is going to be filled with great positive advances.
