Pumbling Procrastination by Gianna - January 2016 Scholarship Essay
My New Year’s resolution to help me become a better student this year is to work on my time management. I know that I have the bad habit of procrastinating, and it causes me to have several project due with only days left to complete them. This is especially bad as an art major. It can take a week to do a single art project, so when there are four of them due in a week on the same day for the same class, it is almost impossible to finish all of them on time.
I know that this is a problem for me so it is something that I am working on correcting. I have been thinking of ways to have better time management and the one that I feel will work best for me is following a set schedule. This schedule will show me the exact amount of time I have to do a project or essay. From there, I will set times that I will dedicate to working on my school work as well as write down markers for how much I need to get done that day. This way, when I look into my planner I can see what I have to accomplish that day to be able to finish my work in a timely manner to the best of my abilities.
I hope that this plan will not only help me improve upon my time management issues but help me produce better quality work. By not having to worry about cramming everything into a small amount of time, I will have the ability to properly write out my essays and get all of my ideas on the page in an orderly fashion.
