The aspect of my education that I am most thankful for, is being able to receive a free education. A lot of people do not realize how important it is and how it affects all of us. This is very important to me because in some countries females can not get a free education, it motivates me to receive a good quality education, and scholarships are available for me to get an education at a higher level.
I am very fortunate to be able to get a free education because girls in other countries are not able to do this. Certain places in countries like India, Cambodia, Pakistan, and Iran do not allow females to get an education let alone a free education. Over twenty nations do not allow females to get a free education. People in these places do not believe that females should be able to get a free education. They believe that females should stay home and tend to their homes and take care of the children and should not work. Plus it is hard for women in these countries to get a good job because they did not receive an education. Growing up in the United States we forget about how fortunate and privileged we are to be able to get a free education. We take advantage of it not knowing that others would do anything to receive a free education.
Another reason why I am so thankful for a free education is it pushes me to want to get an education. When you have to pay for an education it causes you to want to give up because it becomes a hassle. Some children in other countries can not get an education because it is not free, and if their parents can not afford the schooling, then the child has no choice but to stop going to school. Some children have to help their parents by working and cannot take advantage of being able to get a free education. In the United States with our high school education being free, no student or that’s student’s parents ever had to worry about this. Parents never had to think about how their children were going to survive in this world without a free education because there are too many opportunities in our country for kids not to be able to receive a free education. There are so many schools in America that offer you a free education.
One last reason why I am thankful for a free education because it can bring me opportunities to higher learning. Even though college is not cheap, with all the scholarships in this world there is no reason why your education can not be free. People are offered academic and athletic scholarships all of the time. This can cause their whole college education to be free. Even though you can not just go to college for free, with the right grades a free college education can be handed to you. This can give me more of an advantage in the work force for better job opportunities. Also there are some colleges that do offer you a free education. Even though they are not the most popular universities and they are a little small, they still offer you a free college education. The United States is one at the few countries that has this opportunity. You can become a college graduate without spending any money, you will not have any student debts, and have a better chance at getting a job than most people that did not go to college or did not finish college.
In conclusion the aspect I am most thankful for is a free education. Having a free education can bring so many opportunities for your future. Every day we to school not thinking anything of it not know that others that are like us are not able to. When my grandmother would tell me I should be happy my education is free I did not really think about it until I did this assignment. After I began to write this paper I understood why she said what we she said. We as students complain about having to come to school every day and want to just get it over with, but we do not realize how we should be grateful that we can go to school for free instead of whining about having to go to school. We should always be thankful that we have the opportunity to receive a free education. We really do not pay attention to the fact that we are just so fortunate to be able to get a free education. I think we should be more mindful about this topic.
