My First Treacherous Exam Week by Cassidy - December 2016 Scholarship Essay

The first time I had to take an exam was in the 7th grade. I did not know what to expect from this, but I knew it was not going to be easy. The way our exam were set up during that time was a little different than it is now. Back then, we would have a review week one week, and then we would take our exams the next week. This left me with numerous study guides to go over for all six or seven of my exams.
I was so overwhelmed by the fact that I would have to cram so much information in before the next week. I studied every minute I could. I would complete my study guide as soon as I received it, and go home that day to spend as much time as I could to study it until I had to start studying the next subject. I did this for the entire review week.
When exam week came around, I felt even more overwhelmed than I did the week before. Although having to contain all of the information for three tests in one day was super stressful, everything seemed to work out for me. Because I made A’s on all of my exams, my parents rewarded me by taking me out to eat that night. This is one of the many moments I truly felt proud of myself on a school assignment. The fact that I did everything by myself makes me feel like I can accomplish anything on my own.
