In Ten Years by Andrea - December 2015 Scholarship Essay

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? How will your education help you get there?
Throughout my entire life, I have had millions of goals for myself. The only thing that never changed was to be happy. I believe there are many different things that will make me happy. I want to achieve everything I've hoped and dreamed for, to have a close relationship with my family, have a stable financial situation, my dream career as a teacher, and hopefully be married with a few children.
Since I was a little girl, I have dreamed of being a teacher. Through school I have always looked up to my teachers. They have become mentors, friends, and who I go to for any kind of advice. I feel comfortable with them and they have shaped me into the person I am today. During my junior year of high school, I talked with one of my favorite teachers and she helped me decide what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I realized how much I loved the thought of teaching FACS classes. She helped me find all the information I need to achieve these thoughts and make them a reality. I am very thankful for her help and guidance.
Education has always been something I love. I have always tried my hardest and wanted to learn and be the best. I have been involved in everything possible in school and taken as many classes as possible to prepare for my future. I have learned so much over the years, I can't wait to go to college and start my life to put it all in use. I wouldn't be the same person if it weren't for what I have learned in school.
Education, teachers, mentors, and dreams are what will get my to where I want to be in ten years. I want to be my happiest self. Education has and will get me to this point. I will get to be what I have always dreamed of because of all the knowledge I have been taught over the years. I can't wait to put all I have learned to use in the real world someday. My education has made me the person I am and dream to be.
