My School Accomplishment That I Am Proud Of by Andrea - December 2016 Scholarship Essay
An academic achievement that I can say I am most proud of is having the courage to go back to college in order to fulfill an objective that I have long ago let go of years ago in quitting college at the time since I had quit at a time in my life where I was confused in the direction of what I really wanted to pursue, plus thought it was important to go back in the work force full time to help pay back the college debt I had accruing with interest. As I have gotten older, I understand fully in getting a college degree is critical for individual success in today’s economy. With higher education it can make a person more marketable and gives them more options in life, along with not taking away your hard earned knowledge and degree that you have personally put all your hard work and effort into in achieving.
Currently through University of Phoenix online campus I am working on a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business, with an emphasis on Business Administration. I have been attending online for a little over two years and actually graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree in Business Fundamentals in July of 2015 with a GPA of 3.9 and was awarded a "National Collegiate Honor Society" award. Right now my GPA stands at a 3.8 and earlier this year I was awarded within my business degree program a "Delta Mu Delta" membership and a "Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement" award for academic excellence. I am very proud and honored to have obtained these awards and to not take them granted since my professional goal after graduation coming up in two months is using the knowledge that I have learned to work hard and target skills within Business Administration that will incorporate a wide field of opportunities of management positions. From major corporations to independent businesses, every operation needs skilled administrators in order to succeed, whether it is establishing and carrying out organizational objectives, consult with other executives, staff and board members about operations, negotiate or approve contracts and agreements, and to identify places to cut costs and to improve performance, policies and programs.
