I have tutored students in various academic subjects and in test prep since attending Haverford College. I have also gained experience working with students as a middle school teacher and as a mentor in an elementary school reading program. After teaching at the Washington Middle School for Girls in DC, I earned an Ed.M in Education Policy and Management at The Harvard Graduate School of Education and currently work as a project manager in education assessment. While I am no longer in a classroom during the day, I still enjoy helping students reach their maximum academic potential. As a tutor, I first focus on understanding a student's academic needs and then work with the student to ensure that he or she grasps an understanding of the particular subject. I stay patient and encouraging while using different examples to explain a concept and continuously check for understanding by asking the student questions.
