What does the word “alone” mean?

Possible Answers:

To be happy

To be by yourself

To be in a group

To be sad

Correct answer:

To be by yourself

Explanation:

We can use the words around "alone" in the text to help us learn the meaning.

A wolf does not live alone. Wolves live in groups called packs.

These sentences tell us that a wolf lives in a group, not alone. A group has many things in it. So "alone" must mean just one person. The correct answer is "to be by yourself".
