Private Online LSAT Tutoring in Vancouver

If you're a student at the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser, or any other school in the region, and you're planning on a career in law, Varsity Tutors can get you set up with a Vancouver LSAT tutor who can provide you with individualized instruction as you get ready for this crucial exam. The LSAT is the only test accepted by ABA-accredited or Canadian common-law law schools for the purposes of admission, so your LSAT scores can have a definite impact on your future academic career. LSAT tutoring in Vancouver can give you insight into the LSAT that you may need to approach the test with confidence.

The LSAT is broken up into three components: Reading Comprehension, Analytical Reasoning, and Logical Reasoning. Reading Comprehension will provide you with long, complex passages similar to the sorts of documents that you'd encounter in law school, and will ask you questions to assess your understanding of these passages. So you might be asked what information can be further inferred from the document, for example, or the contextual meaning of phrases, or to provide an analysis of the structure of the text.

Analytical Reasoning will test your ability to think critically when it comes to sets of relationships and constraints. You'll have to use legal problem-solving skills to assess how the stated relationships or conditional statements affect each other, discerning the truth value of various statements based on these conditions. You'll also have to understand how new information could impact these relationships.

Logical Reasoning will ask you to read and criticize everyday written material, like excerpts from magazines or newspapers, or advertisements. You'll need to identify the arguments put forward by this material and the assumptions, misunderstandings, or flaws present in these arguments.

The LSAT covers a wide range of complex material, as you can see here. But with the help of a Vancouver LSAT tutor, you can break down the test and approach it systematically, allowing you to prepare comprehensively. As you begin working, a private instructor can identify your strengths and weaknesses and draw up an appropriate plan of study, so you can work efficiently by moving quickly through topics that you've already mastered and slowing down to dig into areas where you struggle. So if you feel confident when it comes to Reading Comprehension and Analytical Reasoning, but aren't as adept at sussing out the arguments presented in the ordinary written material that you'll see in Logical Reasoning, for example, an LSAT tutor in Vancouver could drill you with analyses of marketing material and other informal discourse. Your learning preferences can be taken into account, too. If you're a visual learner, a Vancouver LSAT tutor could put together flashcards or other visual material for you to use as a study aid. Or, if you learn best through auditory means, they could record your study sessions and create audio notes. At each step of the process, you'll be getting direct, expert feedback to keep you on track.

Personalized instruction allows for easy, flexible scheduling too. You can even study with an LSAT tutor in Vancouver online over our video chat platform, using tools like a virtual whiteboard to aid your work. Through the internet, you can meet with your Vancouver LSAT tutor wherever it works best for you, whether that's a local library or cafe, or even your own home.

If you reach out to Varsity Tutors you'll be able to speak with one of our educational consultants, who can give you more information about what you can expect from LSAT tutoring in Vancouver. We can often find you a personal instructor within 24 hours, so you can get to work preparing for the test ASAP. Give Varsity Tutors a call, and you can get extra resources as you pursue success on the LSAT, so you can leap the last hurdle between you and the next step in your career path.

LSAT Tutoring review by Brett in Vancouver
The student had taken one test over the course of the week and also did one extra section of games. He dropped a little in the logical reasoning but his accuracy in the game section is improving and he is getting more confident with it. We worked mostly on games and came up with some good diagrams for ones involving 3 sets of variables or more. We also went over some of the logical reasoning and talked out why the correct answers were correct. We will be meeting again in a week.

LSAT Tutoring review by Neil in Vancouver
The student and I completed a comprehensive study of the arguments sections of the SAT. We followed the Princeton review methods for approaching each question type. I emphasized the importance of understanding and diagramming the arguments before approaching the answer choices, as well as the importance of understanding what each question type is looking for in an answer. We also covered validity in logical arguments and the importance of analyzing logical form when trying to comprehend an argument as a whole.

LSAT Tutoring review by Jessica in Vancouver
This was my first sessions with the student and it was held at her apartment complex's office area, which is a perfect location for meeting. During this session, we discussed her goals, study habits, and prior LSAT experience. We focused on the game section, completing 3 games from the practice test she had taken the previous weekend at my request. On this test, she scored a 149. Her goal is a 160, which, I believe, with a lot of work, is quite realistic for her.
