Private Online ACT Tutoring in Vancouver

If you're interested in attending a university in the United States, you may be required to take the ACT, and Varsity Tutors can set you up with an ACT tutor in Vancouver who can provide you with individualized assistance. And whether you're studying at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary, Magee Secondary, or any other school in the area, a Vancouver ACT tutor can meet your needs on your schedule. The ACT includes sections on Math, English, Reading, and Science, as well as an optional Writing section, so the content covered is broad. A private instructor can help you narrow the scope of your studies so that you use your time efficiently.

To give you some idea of what material a Vancouver ACT tutor can review with you, we'll go over the test briefly. First, the Math section will test you on math subjects from pre-algebra to plane geometry, trigonometry and more. You'll have to understand numerical reasoning, graphing and modeling, geometric shapes and measurement.

The Reading section will provide you with passage-based questions that will challenge you to identify themes and ideas in written works, form summaries, and other similar tasks. The English section is similar, in that it provides you with passages to analyze, but this section focuses on English grammar and usage. You'll have to understand how writing should be structured, and how to identify improper grammar.

The Science section will test your problem-solving skills in topics like biology, chemistry, and physics. You'll be required to analyze scientific data in a variety of ways using your knowledge of these subjects.

If you're taking the ACT Plus Writing variant of the test, you'll also face a 40-minute Writing section. Here, you'll be challenged to quickly compose an essay based on a provided issue and three separate perspectives on that issue, integrating the perspectives into your own argument and relating them to each other.

With so much to review for the ACT, you may feel unsure of where to start. That's where a Vancouver ACT tutor comes in. As you work with your private instructor, they'll be able to identify your strengths and weaknesses and chart out a focused study plan that aims to improve your ACT performance. This is in contrast to a classroom, where you'd be required to work on the same material at the same speed as your classmates, which can result in time wasted going over subjects that you've already got a handle on. An ACT tutor in Vancouver can also take your preferred learning style into account, putting together flashcards or pictorial aids if you're a visually-oriented student, or audio notes if you're more of an auditory learner.

In addition to offering a flexible curriculum, ACT tutoring in Vancouver offers flexible scheduling. You'll meet with your Vancouver ACT tutor online via our Live Learning Platform, where you'll be able to see and speak with them face-to-face over video chat. You'll have access to included study tools as well, like a virtual whiteboard. The online study cuts out any need for a commute, which can make fitting ACT prep into your busy day easier and can save you time and money. We can find an instructor who can make time for you whether you require night classes, something in the middle of the workday, or even on weekends.

Give Varsity Tutors a call to speak with one of our educational consultants who can give you more information about working with an ACT tutor in Vancouver. We can find you a private instructor inside of 24 hours, so reach out today and you can get to work quickly. You could be taking the first step towards striving for ACT success.

The student and I continued reviewing sections, strategies, and content. She also learned that she will be taking the test over 2 days with extended time, so we devised some strategies to help succeed under that format.

The student and I went over a science section that he completed for homework and a reading comprehension section. We then covered English. He has improved greatly in English, and has learned from his previous mistakes. He is now correctly solving problems that he was consistently getting incorrect in the past. In math, he needs to watch out for dropping negative signs and be conscious of when he should be dividing versus subtracting, but other than that he is doing well in the math. The tougher sections are still taxing, but there has been definite improvement.

Today we mostly focused on reviewing the math and science sections. She had some trouble with the timed section of math, but still ended up with a 24, so it was a big improvement from her initial score. We also went over last minute strategy and I made sure to assure her of her abilities.
