VTNE Flashcards
If you have almost finished taking the classes you need to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician, then you are likely facing the Veterinary Technician National Examination soon. Passing the VTNE is an important step to beginning your new career, so take advantage of the full suite of Varsity Tutors' Learning Tools to prepare for this important exam. The Learning Tools Flashcards offer a great way to squeeze in a little VTNE review when you only have a few minutes to spare or want to continue to squeeze in some VTNE study after you have mastered the VTNE practice tests.
Practicing with the free flashcards online is very simple. To take advantage of the ready-made VTNE study flashcards already packed with questions related to the knowledge you will need to know on your VTNE exam, you simply click on the icon that says “Begin Flashcards.” A question will pop up on your screen, along with several possible answers to choose from in multiple-choice format. Once you click on the answer that you believe is correct, you will then be directed to a screen that tells you whether your answer is “correct” or “incorrect,” what the correct answer is, and a brief explanation why it is correct.
There are many ready-made VTNE flashcards for you to practice with, but the Varsity Tutors' Learning Tools suite also offers you the chance to make your own flashcards with the unique flashcard builder. To begin creating your own flashcards with the builder, all you need to do is click on the “create a test” icon, and you will then be directed step-by-step through the flashcard maker interface. Each flashcard template offers an area for you to input a new question, multiple answers to chose from, and the correct answer to the question. You can then choose to add some of Varsity Tutors' Learning Tools own questions into the mix, or you can choose to only practice with the flashcards you built during a session.
Don't worry about having to enter your own questions in over and over again into the flashcard creator, because once you use the flashcard builder to create your own questions, you can save them to use practice with regularly until the big day of your exam!
The VTNE is administered by the American Association of Veterinary State Boards, and it currently has 150 questions, including 20 pre-test questions that won't count in your final score and are mixed randomly into the official questions that do count toward your score. You have three hours to complete the test, which works out to about two minutes to answer each question.
Sections of the VTNE exam include Animal Care and Nursing, Pharmacy and Pharmacology, Surgical Nursing, Animal Dentistry, Anesthesia, Laboratory Procedures, Diagnostic Imaging, Animal Pain Management, and Emergency Medicine. The largest portion of the exam is the Animal Care and Nursing section, which impacts 22 percent of your questions, while the smallest is Emergency Medicine, of which only 6 percent of your questions will be based.
The Varsity Tutors' Learning Tools suite, including the VTNE study help flashcards, pose questions closely related to the field of veterinary assisting, so you can be prepared for the questions you encounter on your VTNE exam.
