Повторенье - мать ученья. (Repetition is the Mother of learning). I could not have been given simpler advice by my teacher, and can not give better advice to another.

To a student in a teaching environment where teachers are utilized, this can not be any more necessary for immediate success in primary educational institutions, and translated success into secondary educational institutions. A student will take their knowledge accumulated from their teachers now, and regurgitate it into every bit of their work in both educational environments, until they can regurgitate it with the addition of comprehension. If a teacher is serious in their efforts to help their students learn, they will repeat their lessons to their students in some form consistently throughout the year.

In a teaching environment, a student has the chance to increase their knowledge as much as they can fit into a standard four years without the additional stress of tuition, added responsibilities, and failure with considerably more massive consequences that come along with secondary institutions (now that they have become the norm to attend). Teachers have been trained in teaching methods to assist in imparting knowledge to students through intervals of alternating lessons, quizzes, tests, homework, notes, and studying. Paving through the same materials for a few weeks at a time, as teachers have been trained to do, will give students the knowledge for a few weeks at best. Repeating materials throughout the year, even for a minute or two a day, will stimulate the brain into accepting the material being taught as long term memory. Regardless if a teacher employs only one of the listed methods previously stated to impart their knowledge, or all, the key to effective student learning is repetition.

Teachers have been taught to impart knowledge to students in a variety of ways, but ultimately use their skills ineffectively as I believe they have forgotten how they learned in a teaching environment after experiencing a learning environment to become a teacher. Take this advice from a fresh graduate of the teaching environment: Repetition is the Mother of learning.
