I need true help to help me be successful by Yahtil - January 2015 Scholarship Essay

What is the main reason we attend school? Is it just to with hold information to help us pass some form of exam , or are we actually supposed to learn to help us succeed in life? I've been enrolled in different schools in four different states and in every single one the same thing has occurred. I can honestly say that I don't remember anything I've learned in high school. My topic question asks me "if you could give a teacher one piece of advice to help you learn, what would it be?" And my response to this is take your time and assure that the information you distributed to me actually sinks in. Not all things have to be in the form of a quiz or test but actually make sure I know what was taught.

I'm not really a slow learner but I do have to take my time. I tend to procrastinate and study for exams at the last minute. I do have one professor (Ms. Sellers) that actually checks up on me to assure that everything is being accomplished to its full potential. I just need a teacher to sit down with me whether it's before school or after school, but I need them to sit with me and review whatever it is we've learned of will learn. If I act had this I feel as if I would accomplish so much more.
