My Gratitude Towards Classroom Relationships by Tucker - November 2020 Scholarship Essay

When asked questions about education, I think of my classes. I think of the grades and accomplishments I aim to achieve every day. However, with the topic of what I'm most thankful for in my education, I don't think of the grades or of the activities. What I am most thankful for in my education is the relationship with my teachers and peers.
Without my instructors, I would be lost at my desk without a single clue of what to do. Without the students around me, I wouldn't have as much of the support that I have every day. The relationships built in the classroom are what truly make my education as beneficial as it is. I feel that I can trust my teachers to help me with whatever problems I may have. Whether it be about the material taught that day or with any troubles I've been having in school or life all together. The relationship I build throughout the year with my teachers creates a healthy environment in which I feel safe and comfortable. I learn better when I feel that I can trust my instructor. I am thankful for how much help my teachers provide to me in the classroom.
Without my classmates - my friends and peers - I wouldn’t be as comfortable in my learning environment. I wouldn’t look forward to group activities or projects. An environment in which I can talk to fellow classmates is the environment I love to learn in. The discussion and sharing of ideas is what makes education a learning experience for everyone. I am thankful for my classmates and the ways that they make the classroom an inviting and friendly place to learn.
Without my teachers and classmates, I don’t think I’d be where I am today with my education. Because of these groups of people, I am able to learn faster, easier, and more comfortably.
