Technology In My Education by Tristan - January 2020 Scholarship Essay

Today we are beginning the golden age of technology. Nearly every person carries a supercomputer around in their pocket, but what does this mean for students and their education? It means that kids can further explore their interests and their strengths in a way that helps them. From my experience one of the biggest benefits technology has given me in my education was from Google Drive. Google Drive is a program that saves peoples projects, papers, and documents from other google products in one place that is accessible from any computer with an internet connection.
I have found Google Drive to be one of the most helpful classroom tools for students. I was able to work on projects from nearly anywhere because of the “available offline feature” that allows access to the document if there is no internet connection and the user has the app downloaded on their device. This has allowed me to add to and improve projects and assignments when I think of a new idea for it. Google Drive also makes it easy to share your work with teachers and classmates. Because of this easy share feature peer grading and suggestions from tutors can be done remotely and accurately to help students who need assistance. Google Drive also allows for real time collaboration from students and teachers to work on and critique the assignments.
I have used google drive for all four years of high school and plan to continue to do so in college because of how versatile it is and how easy it is to use. If it weren’t for google drive I would have not been able to turn in assignments to a quality I was proud of. Without technology being apart of my education I would not have been as successful as a student and not able to continue my journey in education.
