Entering high school is monumental time in one's life. You are leaving behind the childish ways that you may have once known and are moving onto do things that will make an impact on your future. The best thing to do upon becoming a high school student is to get involved.

Going to a new school can be a rough transition, especially if you are walking into a group of unfamiliar faces. In high school there is a club for just about anything you could imagine and if there is not one that interests you, then start your own! Taking the initiative to join a club or even a sport opens up the opportunity to meet individuals with your interests. Getting involved with these various school activities will not only make you friends but also expose you to a multitude of experiences that you may not have encountered otherwise. High school is one stepping stone of your life and the only way that you can get the most out of it is through marketing! You never know, later in life that guy who you were in Chess Club with just might be the one interviewing you for your dream job.

Whether you join the Book Club or play varsity football, make sure you are putting forth the effort to get involved! You will be introduced to your most cherished friends, perhaps some enemies, and plenty of acquaintances along the way; but in the end the benefits will outweigh all. When you are walking across that stage at graduation in four years, you want to be able to look back and remember all of the great times you had in high school and maybe even realize that you learned something about yourself along the way.
