To me, education is the most powerful weapon a human can have. The difference in knowledge in any given situation will give you the advantage to accomplish your goals. For example, being aware of the scholarship bulletin posted by the Seattle Public School district is a huge advantage over students who are not aware of this. With my knowledge of this database, I have a resource which allows me to see the due dates and many scholarships that are out there.
By pursuing education, I am given the opportunity to learn skills and content necessary for the real world. Most kids my age complain how “we aren't going to use this after high school” .But I believe the purpose of high school was to set good habits and improve critical thinking skills necessary for college.
Education is important to me because it will allow me to reach my dream. In today’s society the importance of a high school diploma or even higher a college degree is necessary for jobs. It shows employers you are competent and have the skills to work there. In order to become a dentist, I need to complete rigorous courses in order to learn the skills to help individuals.
Obtaining an education will allow me to become a role model for my community and family. I have a little brother and sister looking up to me. Coming out of a high minority community and attending an international school, society does not place high standards on my character. I intend on earning one of the hardest educational pathways out there to show to make a statement and set an example to those before me.
Education is truly my most powerful weapon.
