College is a Reward by Taylor - April 2020 Scholarship Essay

College is a fountain of knowledge. I believe attending college is very important and there are many good things that come out of it. It is the reward after graduating from high school. College itself is a wonderful opportunity and it comes with a thousand more opportunities!
College is the big opportunity that someone can take advantage of after high school. However, it is also a place where you can find millions of opportunities within. College is meant to give students the ability to become smarter and more intelligent in fields where they are passionate about and want to learn more about. You can explore so many options and find new hobbies, make new friends, etc. Students can earn a degree to help them live a better life and avoid having serious financial problems in the future.
Attending college allows you to make new friends and build your own skills. It gives you the freedom to find who you are and to build yourself. Surrounding yourself around people who support you and are good influences can help you better yourself as well. It gives you the ability to set goals and achieve them, helping you to aspire to who you want to be.
After attending college and earning a degree, it sets you on the right path toward finding a job. When applying for jobs, employers look to see if you have a college education. Most often, having attended college can get you hired for a better job and get paid a higher salary. Getting paid a higher amount is another step toward staying away from financial problems and having a stable foundation.
I believe attending college is important, however there is a big downside to attending college: student debt. College is expensive and you must learn to be responsible with your money. Although college is expensive and can put $30,000+ of student debt on your shoulders, it is still worth going because of the opportunities that are available to you and can better you for the future.
