College Is A Necessity by Ta'Jah - April 2020 Scholarship Essay

I believe attending college is very important. College provides you with experiences that you would have never thought of going through. People go into college expecting one thing and can come out with so much more. They attend colleges to get a higher level of education, but also come out with lifelong skills, improved communication levels, many connections, lifelong friendships, etc.
Being a current college student, I have already learned how to really keep a schedule for myself so I will not fall behind any of my classes. I have learned to be more independent as well as taking responsibility for all that I do. I just know that once a person get to experience a true college life, they will be more than grateful that they took that chance and attended.
All in all, college is important because it benefits you as a person. Sometimes an individual steps out of their comfort zone to adjust to situations they are surrounded with. Then they look back and they never went back to how they were simply because college changed them and provided them with that extra needed push. Also, just to put in those extra years for that certain degree will have a person feeling like they can conquer anything in this difficult world we live in.
