Academic Role Model by Sydney - October 2019 Scholarship Essay

The person who has inspired me most academically has to be my therapist Karen. Karen has the same degree that I am going for. She had a doctorate in psychology and that is my major. My goal is to become a clinical psychologist and with my guide from Karen, I feel like I can accomplish that. She has done everything in life that I strive to do and to become. She speaks Spanish as well as English and I am currently learning Spanish as well and I plan to minor in it.
I am very passionate about what I do and what I plan to do with my life and I feel like Karen helps me see that I have a bright future ahead of me if I continue to work as hard as I already do. I am thankful to have her in my life and I look up to her not only as an emotional guide but as an academic guide. She is an incredible role model in so many ways and she also just happens to have the same career path as I want to have as an adult.
She has made me feel accomplished with the great grades that I have held since sophomore year in high school. I have won multiple academic awards and I can thank Karen for showing me the discipline that it takes to work hard and to stick with the good grades that I have been earning for years now.
