Your Education Leads the Way to Your Future by Skye - April 2015 Scholarship Essay

We are all here to live out our purpose. What that purpose is? Well some people may not know until it hits them one day out of nowhere. That is what happened to me. I never wanted to go to college and I did not have a purpose in life. This was until March 28th, 2013 when my family and I stopped by the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) on the way to St. Augustine. It was that day, the second I walked through the gates I knew in a matter of milliseconds I had to become an astronaut. Although I knew what my ultimate goal was I still had to take the first step. That first step was going to college. No matter what you want to be in life whether it is a teacher, technician, plumber, doctor or astronaut, you should get your education. Education leads the way to your future.

The foundation to a good career is an education. Getting an education allows you to have the correct knowledge and background to go into any field you chose. But it is not just the education, you have to work for it and get good grades and experience in order for that education to back you up in the future. The purpose of education leads to the purpose of you. I was accepted to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to study Aerospace Engineering & Human Factors with a minor in Space Studies. But this is not what made me realize that education was important. What made me realize that it was important was the fact that I was accepted to work on several projects involving NASA and partnering companies over the summer and throughout my undergraduate years. This is when I realized that education was important because without one I would not be able to work on the things I have in front of me now. You want a future? Get a good education.
