Fundamental Realities of Your Future by Shelby - March 2017 Scholarship Essay

Most people believe that in two hundred years or so, aliens will come to earth; it is also said that we might have flying cars or the world itself will be demolished and none of us will exist. That topic however, isn't something our generation needs to focus on. Our primary focus should be our near future, not that of our children's children's future. Adults come to us constants bickering about college and scholarships, and though that is of high importance we should put our attention to where you are now and how that reflects who you will become after the college years.
As previously stated, we will be focusing on where you are now and the affect it has on your future. Most students around my age, would be able to simply state that they haven't filled out any scholarship applications, they haven't looked at any colleges, and they have absolutely no idea what they want to do when they graduate. Knowing that we are going to graduate in a couple years time, that is a no-go; the current generations in high school are striving for nothing but expecting to be handed the world in their hands. Children want to be making money, but not putting in the work. At this rate all of those children who complain that doing simple task is too hard, all of those children who have no idea what to do with themselves when graduation is months away, every single one of them, because of their lack of ambition, will be unsuccessful in their future. Employers are starting to become stricter with their hiring, the number of people losing their jobs is increasing all due to the lack of strive within people.
This needs to be an eye opener, if you want to be working at McDonald's or Walmart for the rest of your life go ahead, choose to make minimum wage where you won't be happy with your career and where you won't be able to afford nice things. Does that sound good to you? Choose the better route, strive to do great things in all of your classes; make good grades, though it doesn't sound beneficial, it is, when you make good grades you create a higher GPA for yourself, when you have a high GPA the greater chances you have of getting into college and receiving scholarships, when you get into college the more likely you will be able to graduate and get yourself a career that not only pays good, but will make you happy to wake up every morning and go to.
Picture yourself in this very moment, what do your grades look like? What is your behavior like? If it isn't in a place to where you can achieve what I described earlier, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! There is no reason why any kind of person can't be successful, everyone has equal opportunity to express themselves and push themselves to achieve extraordinary things. There is no reason why you shouldn't know what to do with your life when you graduate, the are numerous ways you can discover yourself, go explore the things you're interested in and see if that can be turned into a career. I hate to say it but if you don't, you will never be satisfied with yourself.
I will end off on a note to where I say: you are capable, you are in a world of opportunity, you have ambition. You just need to dig deep and find it, your future depends on it. Listening to these words, realize that your future is coming and it is coming fast. You are running out of time and you need to do everything in your power to make it great. Strive for greatness and you will be successful. As a task: go out within the next week and explore more of your favorite hobbies, put them to work, find other people who have the same interests as you and discover the careers and doors it can open. Find what you can achieve and accomplish and reflect on it. It may very well be the beginning to your future.
