Education in the Future by Sharif - May 2020 Scholarship Essay
As we currently experience, the new norm from a horrible outbreak has changed many industries, from educational to commercial. Many wonder how students in college or lower experience the depth-in learning of being in a classroom in the future if this ever happens again will? I will tell you how the school will change and look like in 50 years when trying to teach students.
The school will lean towards more technology more than ever; some feel that the education system needs to adapt more quickly if situations like COIVD-19 ever happens again, pushing for online school and putting money towards building the education system online. For example, online education did not translate well a lot of the students from a college down because they have never experienced an outbreak like this being unable to leave their homes and hang out with their friends. Students feel that they should have their grades passed automatically, or others will state," just give all an As in the class." However, colleges do not like to do that because it is harder to distinguish most of the students apart and a harder chance persuading consumers to come to their school since every other school can give each student the same education. That may be true. That's why I believe schools will start with the middle school having assignments online and show students how they were using the learning program online, so they will not depend on anyone to show them because they know how to work the program. From one video being online having a teacher on their screen, they will believe that's the only source for information because it is taught them, making them trust anything online. Altogether many teachers will support it starting, but I feel more teachers will be resistant and debate slowing down the growth of the online. The reason for them feeling concerned students will not listen and pay attention to them in class. From student's transition to online slowly over time, many students will tend to fade away from human interaction or like human communication in person, making them isolate themselves, making human interaction less from the education to their daily lives.
Education online will look more like a business sadly from business and teachers having more accurate data than ever from their students helping many companies sell better to their consumers. This will make the companies have more value,e which they will happily pay money to schools to keep the profit growth to allow their firm to grow more on the market. Some believe this online schooling will not become a business; just a teacher is showing them right and wrong. However, teachers have the power to force students to take more qualitative information like surveys about the students, only making it apart of their grade, causing students more obligated to do these surveys. In short, the business will know the two keys things to capture any value, which is want and needs are allowing them to capture any customer's value instantly.
Education will change how our youth lives in the future, making us feel isolated and only trusting and paying attention to what is on the screen, which will lead to no human interaction at all. In addition to education changing, becoming more online will make people put more of their perosnality, traits, a habit which turns into value, allowing companies to understand better consumers' wants and needs. From education becoming more of a business and less human interaction will change education in the next 50 years.
