Future Adivce by Savan - April 2021 Scholarship Essay

Five years ago, I was approaching one of my biggest challenges I have ever faced in my life. I walked in front of my friends and family; watching as I graduated from middle school and moving onto something greater. Thinking about this in the present allows me to see how easy my life had been because I am about to face my hardest challenge yet. Words of advice I would provide myself with would be to take more risks in life. In my past few years, I felt at most times comfortable, academically and socially. I regret throughout high school, not knowing what my limits I could exceed.
In my junior year, I had loaded myself up with a combined workload of 5 advanced placement courses to really push myself. At the end of the year, in my eyes, I saw a failed opportunity where I didn’t excel. This is the best thing that could have happened to me because it showed me what needed to be changed and moreover there are no limits to people’s capabilities. No matter how I stood from the outcome of my junior year, I had learned something new about myself; whether it was that I exceeded my expectation of my strengths or that I learned what I needed to improve upon to become better. Going beyond my own limits are events I tried to avoid instead of approaching.
