Where I Want To Be by Sara - December 2015 Scholarship Essay

In ten years, I will be 28 years old. I will have graduated 3 years ago from the University of Findlay, and will be starting my career as a pharmacist. By this point in my life, I hope to be saving up to get a nice home, and I plan to be looking to settle down, get married, and start a family.
I have grown up in a well-off family. Both of my parents went to college and have worked hard to live the life we do today. My dad works a well paying job at a television station and my mother has done a great job of raising my brother and I along with helping my father fix up rental properties. My parents also had hard working parents; that’s where they learned hard work.
We live in a nice house and my parents have been able to give my brother and I a lot of opportunities. We have both been able to do the activities we want, and when it came time, we each got our own vehicles. When I grow up, I hope to be able to give my kids the same opportunities and I want to own my own home out in the country.
In order to be able to live the life I am striving to live in the future, I’ll need to be able to get a well-paying job. My goal is to be a pharmacist, and that is going to take six years of hard work and studying to get that degree. During my six years in college, I’m going to need to get the best education I can get so that I can obtain the knowledge and the skills needed for that profession. Once I graduate from high school, I plan to go to the University of Findlay. I believe they have a great pharmacy program and that I will be able to get a very good education there as well as experience.
Pharmacy school is very expensive and my parents are also helping put my brother through college currently. Through applying for scholarships I hope to help my parents out so that putting my through college is a little easier. Pharmacy school is also a six-year program and the last two years the normal scholarship they offer does not apply. Those two years will be very expensive. I hope to be able to give some money back to them someday once I get a good job. I plan to study hard and be a great student to make them proud. I want them to know that it’s worth it.
