Leadership Skills are very necessary for success in college. Most people who are going to college for the first time are trying to discover who they really are; they don't quite know everything about themselves and are very impressionable. People who are especially impressionable are the Freshmen and Sophomores going to college. If the student doesn't have Leadership skills of their own to help guide themselves they may choose to follow someone they see as a role model. Leadership skills are a very influential force in college.

If the specific person doesn't have the necessary leadership skills they may choose to follow a man or women with strong leadership abilities. This person they follow may shape the way that specific person grows and matures in life, and the leader they choose to follow may influence them in a very positive or a vary negative way. If the person they choose to follow is a part of a disruptive frat house, or an insidious sorority, it could lead them to make bad life choices in college. They could decide that a good time at a party may be more important than good grades in their English class. They could also choose to follow a person that could lead them to make good choices in life. Whether it could be the class valedictorian, someone who has made the mistakes in their life and has learned from them, or a teacher that offers guidance for the best choices to make in their life to come.

If someone goes to college with leadership skills of their own, and they have a general idea of who they are and where they want to go in life, they have a very important skill as well; the ability to think for themselves. That person can decide for themselves what they want to do and how they want to go about doing it. If they feel like they have enough free time to go out and some fun then they will, and if they think they’re behind on some work then they stay in and do what they feel is best. They don't need someone to tell them what to do and they can decide for themselves who is worth keeping around and who should go.

When you go to college leadership skills are one of the most important things to have. It helps shape your life, your judgment, and gives allows you to think for yourself. Things like this can either make you into a respectable adult who enjoys their college experience to the fullest, or someone who regrets the decisions they made in their life. Thats why leaderships skills are important for success in college.
