Name one education New Year's resolution that you will have for 2021. by Ron'ee - December 2020 Scholarship Essay

I am going to talk about what my educational New Year’s resolution is. I want to make sure I have everything that I need in order before I get to college. I have to pay for my dorm and my books on my own. In order for me to succeed at college, I have to be able to focus on my classes. I have been trying to find scholarships that apply to me.
I have been raised by a single African American woman my entire life. My mother has three children to take care of by herself. My father has been in and out of jail my entire life. As you can already tell, there is not any extra money to help me with college. I would have to save money to pay for my books and a dorm room by myself. For me to succeed in the occupation I want to be in I have to make sure I am always focused and ready to succeed.
My Grandmother is a bipolar schizophrenic. If she would have been able to talk to a professional when she was a child her condition might not be as bad as it is. My Grandfather was in jail almost his entire life. Once he got out he became depressed and began to misuse drugs. He overdosed twice and the second time he died. He went through many things as a child and did not have anyone to help him. My brother is 11 years old and he has anger issues. My mother has been searching for a child psychologist for years. There is currently no available child psychologist in Indianapolis.
I am attending IUPUI for my doctorate in psychology and to get a business degree to eventually start my own business. I would love for you all to consider me for this scholarship. Thank you for taking the time out to read my essay.
