My Advice to Teachers to Keep Students Interested in Learning by Roland - January 2015 Scholarship Essay
The one thing I would offer my teacher and that is to make the subject more enjoyable? But plenty of people don't realize how important this is to the learning process. Not only are students more likely to pay attention if information is presented in an engaging way, but the information is easier to understand and remember.
A sense of humor helps things stick. You will always remember something that is humorous. Teachers who are funny or tell good stories can make some subjects like biology, science and history easier to relate to. By putting in a little more effort, it helps students to do better on tests and enjoy school more.
One other advice is to get to know your students and build relationships with them. A lot of times that relationship goes on for years. Teachers often do things like writing letters of recommendations for student when they go off to college or for jobs and giving career advice.
Once a teacher makes the work enjoyable and they build that special bond you are at ease and you can talk about more than just schoolwork, you're more likely to go to that teacher for help and advice on personal issues. Sometimes things like stress or family problems can affect a person's schoolwork.
Inclosing teachers should try to make work more interesting and try to get their students more. I think it is very important for teachers to make an attempt to include everyone in discussions and a good way to do that is to make it interested for everyone
