Technology distraction is serious problem for the current generation of teenagers. Unfortunately the author of this essay is ashamed to admit that yes there are many times when logging on there seems to be what can only be described as a time suck when entering the world of Tumblr, Twitter, and You Tube. This leads to asking oneself . . .what needed to get done on the computer initially? Too often there are blocks of time that have been set aside to write a paper or do some research when in actuality the user has been responding to silly videos and catching up with friends. This has eaten away the time allotted, way more times than one would want to admit. It seems like Social Media is the junk food aisle of the internet. While in moderation it is fine but too much of it leads to much regret.

Thank you for helping make this issue a realization for this student who is now setting her resolution for the new year. The goal for 2016 is to completely set aside social media until all homework has been accomplished and then let the social media world be a reward/candy bar once the work has been accomplished.
