Why College by rahmon - April 2020 Scholarship Essay

Attending not only a university but a college in general serves a great purpose in life and gives lifelong lessons. Not only that but it gives you a great push into the world not only educationally but mentally. I want to attend college because I want to become the best I can be and be able to be one of the people who make change in this world. A college education would not only make my family proud, but also my community and it will ensure a bright future for myself. Achieving a degree is a dream of mine.
College serves a great purpose in life. It gives great life long skills that ensure a bright future. From picking a major to living in the dorm life for the first time. Not having your parents around to tell you when to do your homework and when to study or for how long. Having to make your own decisions and when and what to do and what not to do. Which is a great part of life and being in college prepares you for some of the biggest decisions you are going to make in life. Not only the biggest decisions but the toughest ones. I believe college will grow me and help me and teach me the lessons I need to learn to become the best person I know I can be. I also believe being in college instills courage and determination in you that will mold you. Not only in education but mentally. College gives you the best skills for life by giving you a chance to be on your own and to be responsible and push yourself to be the best you can be on your own without anyone else to tell you. College shows you perseverance and challenges your own strength that you never knew you had. It also pulls out parts of you that you never knew were there ,when being under the roof of parents. Which gives you the chance to obtain great new skills that enforce a better future because you were on your own and did the things necessary to succeed and have a bright future. I want to go to college because I want new life lessons like that. I want to be able to challenge myself and take on new responsibilities and take ownership for where I go from it. I want to make not only my family proud but my community. I want to be able to go above in beyond in not only education but in a career that will build me into a great person and a great man. I also would like to show that I can be more than what anyone can imagine. I want to exceed in everything I do and become the best I can be, in not only my major but also in the sport I play. In life sometimes people take opportunities as if they are nothing. College for example, people can take that for granted. Let their grades slip or forget the reason they are there. I want to go to do the opposite. I want to show not only others but to myself that I can do whatever I put my mind to. I can study and pass in any subject I put my hardest effort into. I want to be able to get the very best grades to ensure I graduate with the highest grades I can achieve, and learn new skills that will mold me into someone who will be very successful and have the best life skills to go on in this world and make a difference. I want to be able to help other people even when I leave college and help other kids and to show them the importance of getting their education and helping them to be the best they can be. I want to challenge myself because I have great confidence that whatever I do and whatever I put my mind to I will be great in and that includes college and college life. I feel once I master that over the next 4 years I will have a greater outlook on life and use these skills to my advantage to the world I am about to enter. I will be able to go full force and be motivated because I will be prepared from what I learned in college. I will be ready to change the world. In conclusion, I want to go to college because I want to change the world. I want to become a better person. I want to succeed and excel to the best of my ability and to help others become the best they can be and share my experience with anyone and everyone who doesn’t know how important their education can and will be in the future.
