Leadership in College by Rachel - March 2015 Scholarship Essay

Leadership in college is a good thing, but it’s not necessary for college success unless success to you means a little bit more... You could still graduate and get through college without being a leader. Just go to class every day, study hard, turn in your homework and do your presentations. You can do all of that without hardly talking to anybody at all. But why would you do that?

Being a leader might not be necessary but you’re only going to go to college once (most likely). And while you are there, no matter how many years it is, you might as well try to be a leader. Set an example, talk to people, be awesome! If you want an amazing project to get done or you want a club started, start it! You only live once so you might as well make it as awesome as possible.

So you see, it’s not necessary to be a leader for college success if college success to you is just a diploma in your hand and getting to wear a cap and gown on graduation day. But hopefully college success for you is more; hopefully being a leader is part of the success. Hopefully you are trying to make the world a better place and to do that, you need to lead the way!
