It is said that the best of leaders are the people who aren't even recognized for leading. What this means is that they will help others, but without looking for acknowledgment of their good deed. This shows that they do not care about the ego that comes with being a leader. Their sole purpose is to help the people they care about and be a role model. This becomes important when entering college not only for the sake of others but for the sake of yourself as well.

College is a time to discover who you are as a person, and it's very easy to get lost. It is important to enter college as a leader so that you don't lose yourself in the drugs, sex, and alcohol. College is not for the weak minded. Leaders are strong willed and they know what they want. Nothing is going to get in their way and they won't throw away their future for a buzz or a pill.

So many of my own friends have fallen for alcohol and just gone down the wrong path right off the bat. One friend is addicted to boys, the other is addicted to weed, and another almost failed first semester. All these people have so much potential but because they do not have the strong traits of a leader they fall into the crowd of lost souls. It's sad and it's showing how frequently students find themselves in these situations of self destruction. It's so important to deviate from the crowd, and to do what's important for yourself.

Leaders have the ability to adapt and grow in any situation and college is definitely a place where this ability is necessary. Throughout the years, classes will change, friends will change, and even your life as a whole will completely transform. It's terrifying, but as a leader it is important to be able to face he storm of destiny head on and continue to be strong.

Being a leader in college is essential for a successful college career. Not only will the leaders thrive, but they will also inspire their fellow students. Leaders never give up, they just keep fighting and striving for the life that they want to live, and they pull people up with them along the way.
