Who has most inspired you academically, and how have they encouraged your success? by Nikiya - October 2019 Scholarship Essay

I have a huge support system ,but if I had to choose one person in my life that has inspired me academically, it would have to be my mother. She has influenced and inspired me academically the most, because she pushes me to be the best I can in every way. She reminds me that I can do anything I desire and dream to do. She is one of the reasons I accomplish the things I do, because when no one else believes I can do it she does, and it encourages me to my very best. She constantly reminds me everyday that I have to earn everything I want and need out of life, because it isn’t given to me.

She encourages my success, because she knows I can go further than she did. So, everyday she pushes me further than she did the day before to go my hardest and not to stop, even when I have reached my goal. She doesn’t want me to make the same mistakes she did, so she is always encouraging my dreams, my future plans for going to a four-year university, majoring in Kinesiology to be a Sports Medicine Physical Trainer. She also supports my side career of becoming a massage therapist to the extent of letting me test my abilities out on her. She has always been my main supporter and that will never change.
